Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceA special mention goes to Francesca, the receptionist. This is my second visit to this hotel in the last two years, and once again, she was amazing. She helped us very politely with any need we had, ensuring our stay was comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast at this hotel is simply amazing, featuring products produced right in their own farm inside the hotel. The freshness and quality are outstanding. One of the highlights is the fresh oranges—you can squeeze your own juice, and it's incredibly refreshing. Additionally, they bake a different cake every day, adding a delightful variety to the morning spread. The breakfast is served in an old stable which creates a unique and charming atmosphere. The combination of delicious food and the beautiful, rustic environment makes the breakfast experience truly unforgettable.

United StatesIncredible breakfast, stunning surroundings, ideal location for visiting Etna, Taormina, Catania. Dreamy and relaxing, with groves of oranges and lemons to stroll in, and twelve cats to befriend! Very accommodating for children.

GermanyUnfortunately the location is near the highway. People who like to sleep with open window may not like that. We kept it closed and had no issues.
Beautiful guest house in an old farm with spectacular 360 views, olive, lemon and orange garden for 2 kilometers walking around the property. Numerous cosy places to sit and relax with great views. Very nice breakfast in the old mansion. Very helpful and kind staff. We loved it and can highly recommend.

CroatiaBeautiful place and surrounding nature. Kind and helpful host. Great communication. Check-in is from 15:00 until 20:00 and only by appointment. Check-out until 10:30. Great location if you have a car. It is located close to the motorway which might bother light sleepers. The room was very comfortable and cleaned daily. Towels are changed every three days. Nice homemade soaps. Great breakfast. The restaurant was closed but our host gave us a great tip on where to have dinner in the neighbourhood. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay in Antico Borgo Etneo.

MaltaNothing. Other reviews mentioned that it is close to roads but it really didn't bother us as it was not noisy at all.
The location is just superb. Surrounded by orchards with a beautiful view of the Etna and close to Taormina and Catania. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome even before you arrive. They provided gluten free options for my husband and also a small cake for his birthday! They do not prepare dinner but Francesca contacted a local trattoria which delivered food for us so we didn't have to always leave the place for dinner (though Giardini Naxos is only 10 mins away)

RomaniaProbably the location, but we only stayed one night so it wasn't important to us.
The smell of jasmine flowers in the morning and a bunch of cute cats on the premises. The room was clean and the water pressure was great. The soundproofing in relative to the noise made by other guests. Also the breakfast was adequate.

United StatesWe loved our stay at this charming agriturismo. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Francesca and her mother were extremely pleasant, helpful, and delightful. The views of Mt Etna and other hilltop towns were spectacular. The breakfast was excellent and we were lucky enough to stay on a Saturday night where we could reserve a spot for the Sicilian dinner - a well deserved meal after our climb to Mt Etna's summit crater. Walking through the beautiful garden with lemon, orange, and olive trees while soaking in the sun and views was relaxing. The agriturismo is well situated to other must see attractions like Mt Etna and Taormina, but you'll need a car to get to the property. Francesca and her mother recommended going to Bronte for the Pistachio Festival and it was a wonderful experience.
