Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe Wi-Fi did drop out whenever we went into our room but it did work really well in the guest lounge area. The rooms are located up a couple of flights of stairs so this wouldn't be suitable accommodation for anyone with mobility issues.
Great location right in the heart of the old town of Cittadella. Very comfy bed and good shower. We had the room at the front of the building and it was quite spacious as was the bathroom. There was a bit of noise from the square at the front which was to be expected given the location and didn't bother us at all. It was very quiet from about 9pm onwards, noting that we stayed there in early December during the Xmas festivities. Breakfast was a pretty good spread with each room having its own allocated table and food items which was nice. You could also make fresh orange juice. We were only there for one night and it suited our requirements perfectly.

United KingdomReception wasn't open when I arrived, but another guest arrived at the same time I did, and he had already called them, so I didn't have to dig out the phone. There was only 1 small window in the room I was in. However, as it was a rainy day in December, this wasn't much of a problem.
Clean and comfortable room with good wifi, right in the centre of this attractive walled town, so plenty of shops/bars nearby. I had a room at the back/side, which was very quiet.

United StatesBRING EARPLUGS! No fault of the B&B, but it was an issue....we stayed on a Saturday night, and the town was very noisy, including the café right below our window which had constant talking til about 3am. Around 9:30pm someone in the center (?) of town starting playing loud music til about 11pm...maybe there was a festival going on, not sure...but the windows to the room did not stop much of the loud music, people talking, cars and motorcycles, etc. in the town...no problem, just bring some earplugs!
The lady "Chiara" (spelling?) who greeted us was very kind and helpful! The location is excellent and in the center of town, which gives great access to the wall, museums, shops, restaurants, etc. Our room was pleasant and adequate for the one-night. The bathroom, shower and hot water was terrific, and plenty of towels, soap, etc. Even tho I don't speak Italian, I did enjoy watching the Italian tv and all those stations! We were impressed by the morning self-served breakfast with plenty of coffee options, juices, breads, cakes, cereals, toast, etc.

United KingdomI recommend earplugs! Between the rooms you could hear everything. Absolutely everything! From the TV to telephone conversations (and I am not a light sleeper!) I woke up to the noise and late night chatter of the couple in the next room and the screams of the children in the morning as soon as they woke up. They were also fixing up the room next door and there was all the rubble and stuff lying around, with workers already at work at 9am
The facility is very central and convenient to everything. You can walk to every place without having to use your car. The staff is very friendly especially the cleaning lady.

GermanyWe booked the B&B because we had stayed there before and really liked it. But on arrival we noticed that there were building works in the flat going on. There was no living room anymore, instead they were in the process of dividing the room into two rooms. But the worst thing was that bulding dust was on the floor and the the whole kitchen area (open plan!). Even just having breakfast was no fun. The flat was not useble during the day because of the work going on!!! Unbelievable!!! You would expect a warning in advance or even a reduction in price. Nothing!
Bedrooms were nice and having seperate bathrooms is a bonus.

SlovakiaBeware of noisy location right above cheep local bars - loud music till 4AM. Still worse, the manager didn't even care to reply to our complaint and request to change the room despite none other was occupied the second night. He manages all aspects in a way that he doesn't have to give out the least amount of extra energy. Breakfast was a laugh, so was the 1-litre shower gel from Lidl in the seedy shower. We love Italy, its people and style, so we travel there 2-3 times a year, and stayed in at least 50 different hotels and B&Bs so far, but we never had any experience as unpleasant and un-Italian as this one.

United Statessteep stairs were inconvenient when trying to carry luggage up to the room, also each room is well equipped with AC but the main shared living area isn’t and in the summer heat made it impossible to enjoy.
