It could be better, the walls need a bit of a maintenance. Also the shower is a bit smaller if you’re a bigger/taller guy, the shower head needs to be replaced. When you want to enter a building you need to call the host to open it for you. On the day of the check out door of the apartment didn’t want to open because of some technical malfunction, but luckily there was someone who knew how to fix it.

It has great location near city center. Building is older but it has beautiful architecture. Also it’s easy to find. The host sent detailed instructions how to get into the building and was nice. Everything they mentioned was there in a room, and also in a hallway there was fridge and an oven. There are touchpads on the doors for security when you enter.

The floor was very squeaky and hard to not interupt others. The windows were old and also made noise while it was windy outside, even if it was closed we couldn't make the noise stop.

Awesome room in a great location near transportation systems and close to the city center. Very traditional interesting Italian room style with a great view of the street.

Self check in needs improvement. They didn’t tell us to put a “#” in front and at the end of the code to walk in the apartment, it was quite annoying when we couldn’t understand. No soundproof at all. There was a family in the room in front of us with a baby who cried all night and all morning, it was like they were in the room with us. Because of this we felt no sense of privacy. The bathroom was small and uncomfortably narrow, and there was no bidet as well. We didn’t feel safe, the door to our room definitely needs to be updated, as it is really old and looked fragile.

Check-In experience was really bad: we got the check-in information only a few hours before we were due to arrive, very short notice, and they included calling on arrival. However, nobody picked up the phone and we were left in the street! If a person living in the building hadn't happened to pass and opened the front door, I don't know when or if we would ever have gotten in. The staff didn't even apologise. In the days leading up to our stay the staff repeatedly did not respond to our questions via booking.com message, WhatsApp etc. Mattress was EXTREMELY uncomfortable: it was obviously super old and there was a big dent in it towards the middle that we kept sliding into. Might not be relevant for most nationalities, except Italians: there is no bidet in the bathroom. Since it is legally mandated that all apartment bathrooms in Italy must have a bidet, it was a surprise. The bathroom amenities could do with a renovation in general: it generally doesn't bother me if the amenities are older, as long as they are functional. But water was spritzing out of the shower hose and there was a little bit of mould on the wall. The bathroom was also poorly lit, so for anyone who wants to apply make-up, it is not ideal. Paint is chipping of the wall, the windows are in poor condition etc. Cleanliness could be better, but if everything else had been ok, I would have considered it sufficient. Considering the low price, I did not expect it to be ultra modern or luxurious, but it really was bad. Especially the check-in was super unprofessional and the amenities, mattress etc. at least need to be functional! I do not understand, why the reviews for this place are generally so positive, a lot must have changed since they were there. We couldn't wait till the end of our stay, we were just happy to leave.

Location: very central. Super close to the station and close to the city center. The window was towards a tiny courtyard, so it was acceptably quiet. There was a building site in the vicinity when we were there, but as soon as it is gone, it should be reasonably quiet. Trieste is a beautiful city, I really recommend a visit. Just don't stay at this accommodation.

I booked apartment in Via Cecilia de Ritmeyer 14 but after arrival I was sent to another address and instead of nice and cozy one bedroom apartment I got a room with glass doors, no hot water in the bathroom and pillows so stinky I couldn't fall asleep for couple of hours due to the odor, at the end I had to sleep without pillow. Bed is put together out of foam and topper mattress and it was awful to sleep in. Lights in the hallway was pretty much always on so I needed to get up every now and then and switch it of because other guests don't know how to behave in shared apartment with the lights and laughter and screaming till 2am. To cut a long story short if you want to rest and have a bath AVOID this place.
