It was quite cold in apartment as window was open in January

A kitchen like place (a place with kettle, coffee machine, sink, ) was in an abandoned state. There are a lot cleaning things but not for tea.

Nice location, close to Villa Bellini garden. I checked into apartment in the middle of the night. It was easy due to owner's instructions. The room was clean. Also I had access to a private bathroom across corridor with free toiletries, hairdryer etc. All like described. The stuff is very friendly. Thank you.

We had a private bathroom, but it was not adjacent to the room, it was down the hall. The walls and doors are very thin and we could hear every little noise from the other rooms and the hallway. There was also noise from the street throughout the night. The wifi was not working.

The property is located close to the city center. The owner eas helpful and the self check-in eas very easy. The bed was comfortable.

Unfortunately, there were numerous things that we did not like. We stayed at quite a few places in Sicily therefore we had comparison. When we arrived there were no glasses, or a cold water offered, that was the usual gesture at every other place we stayed at. We booked a room with 3 beds (3 adults), but one of the beds was a truckle bed, resembling the ones in the military. Not very comfortable. In our room there was a wardrobe, but there were 2-3 thick blankets thrown in there and only two hangers were inside, so basically it was useless as there was no place to put our clothes. My mum refolded the blankets and put them on the top shelf for us to have same space. There was mold on the wall. In the bathroom the shower cabin was on the edge of disintegration and everything was calcareous. The kitchen is tiny and poorly equipped. The internet signal is very weak for a day we thought there is no internet at all as our phones could not connect to it. Turned out that it is not strong enough to be used in our room, so every time we had to stand in the corridor to use it. A lady comes every day to clean, but the objects in the hall our dusty. She is the one we met when we arrived. I tried to communicate with her in italian, as it worked very well in every other place we stayed at. She was not really open to answering our questions, she did not even show us the kitchen, wifi etc.

The location of the accomodation is really great, easily approachable and in walking distance from the centre of Catania. The building is nice and clean, freshly renovated. We had a private bathroom which is a plus. The contact person was always quick to reply to our questions.

The building was so old and looked like abbandoned. There was no fridge inside the room, only one in the kittchen area for all the residents

Look like normal entrance of normal houses no indications that is a B And B not even a ring bell tag to indicate. Lot of stairs no lift. No Internet. No B and B

Things we don’t like: - we did not receive directions from the host how to get in the property. On the door there was some paper note with something written in Italian which we don’t speak and some phone number even if we find a way to call this is not possible to explain what we need. By chance we met people who spoke English and were Italians so they helped us to get in after an hour going back and fourth trying to get some help. - there is no wi-if which might be our issue since we didn’t read carefully enough to understand that but it is XXI century and we didn’t expect to have no wi-fi in any developed part of the world, it is just a must-have - we didn’t see the host which isn’t an issue if there was an agreement in advance how to get keys, leave keys and pay. In our case without knowing codes from lockers we were forced to put keys just on the doors handle with potential to have troubles with host later if someone else decides to use it.

Things we liked: - Property location is good, quite close to the main walking street - Very heigh ceilings which is very unusual

The host provided the instruction about the self check in in last minute. I sent him messages 24 hrs before what was ask in the confirmation email of my booking. He didnt picked up my phone. I got my information when my flight departed from Hungary. So i made an extra booking on the airport to the airport hotel where i didnt have to pay in advance.

We stayed only for the evening after the flight, but the guys were very helpful, stayed awake and gave us guidance on parking and getting in the house. The room was amazing, lofty, high cealings, gave the Italian feeling, even if only for a night. The place was very clean and central - was able to reach all great historical places within a 15-20 min walk! Greatly recommend

The radiators did not turn on, resulting in the bathroom and the room being icy, the balcony door did not close, resulting in cold and noise, the bathroom was outside, making it very difficult to use

Everything was perfect this place is close to everything bars,city center and also central station is 15 mins by walk. Gildo is really nice person he help us with everything his place deserve absolutely to be visited again we recommend you guys to stay there! The price is affordable and the location is perfect!

Happy absolutely everything, perhaps only 2 things I would mention: no WiFi at my time and water in shower draining down slow. However, I guess some things were still in fixing after lockdown

Clean, soft design, high baroque ceiling a special feature, comfort of stay, freshness, bathroom facilities, location (3 minutes walk to central Etnea street and beautiful Bellini park) property owner and staff attitude (helpful, responding, my room was cleaned every day, towels refreshed), lovely atmosphere of typical Catania residence, terrace up the building, caffe just across the street with Sicilian specialties open 6am till midnight, staying independent, feeling homelike, full set of towels and bed linen white clean, bed nicely made. I am absolutely happy having had this apartment instead of hotel, it was a great plus to my experience of Catania and sicilian atmosphere. My recommendation with no hesitation! 😊
