Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA wonderful place that has it all. The beauty, the location, a top-class place and and super nice staff, not to mention their home-made cuisine and their own-made wines (Brunello da Montalcino, of course). As romantic as it gets in a paradise-like spot.

We had such a lovely stay at this property. It’s a beautifully renovated villa with plenty of history associated with it. We stayed in the painters room, which overlooked the vines to the front of the property. The bed was so comfortable and the room was cosy. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so helpful and pleasant to deal with. The on-site wine tasting was very enjoyable, informative and very well coordinated by the staff. It’s well located just outside the town of Montalcino with a number of nice wineries only a stone there away from the property. The pool area is lovely. Unfortunately it was quite cold while we were staying at the property so we couldn’t really enjoy it but I can imagine sitting poolside during the warmer months and enjoying every second.

United StatesI would have stayed longer. This was part of a month-long trip to Italy and I would have rebalanced the days to have a full week at this villa.
This villa is completely restored with 8 beautiful and spacious guest rooms. The room had shuttered windows overlooking the Tuscan countryside and includes a modern bathroom with large tiled shower. The property is gorgeous with a small wine vineyard and chestnut grove both of which guests are free to roam. The chef is excellent. We ate very good traditional Tuscan dinner there both evenings we stayed. The staff is great - - friendly and available when needed.

United StatesWe would have loved it if they offered a wine tasting that was included with our stay. It would have been a really nice addition since we paid a decent amount for our stay, had we been offered a free tasting of 2 or 3 of their wines. The dinners were also fixed menus, which we ended up not trying. We would have loved to try the food, but didn't want to be committed to a fixed menu for the price.
Villa Le Prata was a GORGEOUS wine resort stay in Montalcino. The staff was amazing and so helpful with dinner recommendations and requests that we had. It was quiet, clean, and so beautiful. Not to mention the Brunello wine was incredible. We ended up ordering a case and sending it home! So amazing to stay on the location where they grow the grapes. Great breakfast spread and beautiful garden area to eat breakfast, sip wine or relax.

United KingdomBreakfast options and food could’ve been better. I think if they’d rethink their breakfast choices and get a better chef, this place would be truly flawless.

Stop researching and book this place!!! We loved the welcome we got from Minnie from one of the senior management team that welcomed us when we arrived. My husband and I just had our wedding back 12th June 2023 and we decided to spend 2 nights in Villa Le Prata and explore the surrounding areas. We have been to Italy 8 times and it's the first time we've received such great hospitality. All the staff were all fantastic! (Sorry I didn't catch the names) The pool area overlooking the vineyard was so peaceful. Also lots of cherry trees around the property last month which we just picked from the tree to eat - so yum!

United StatesThe property, accommodations, food, wine, and experiences are all excellent, but the staff really made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like family and made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there and did not want to leave! Make sure to experience at least one dinner at the restaurant.

AustraliaThe overpriced Brunello tasting with platter and v small pours for large price.
Wonderful property in a great location. All the staff were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful or kind. Breakfasts were good. Especially Francesca’s chocolate cake! Thank you to Nelson for the great coffees and looking after us so well. The pool area overlooking the vineyards was beautiful and although the weather turned cool when we were there we still enjoyed relaxing on the chairs reading and looking at the view. The light filled bedroom was lovely and equipped with everything you need for a great stay. We appreciated the coffee machine. The bed was very comfortable. The dinner we had at the restaurant was very good. We had the Brunello tasting with platter in the chestnut grove and the setting and platter were wonderful. However the 4 tiny wine pours were a disappointment and not enough to even taste or enjoy the wine with the great platter. At 220 euros for two we thought this experience was very overpriced. But apart from that we had a lovely stay and would love to return.
