Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything was great.
The people at the front desk were very helpful. I lived the patio bar downstairs. The location is great for Mateo, bus, and tram. We walked to the colosseum in 15 minutes.

United KingdomOur room was on a main road, it was noisy at night, emergency vehicle sirens, refuse trucks, it was so loud even with the windows closed, it disturbed our sleep. Recommend requesting a rear facing room away from the main road.
Our larger room was really lovely, modern, clean, with a nice big bathroom & a fridge, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, fresh cake treats, a coffee machine, fresh fruit, croissants, vegetable quiche, cheeses, scrambled egg, potato, bacon & sausage. The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the coliseum & there was a metro & bus stop outside the hotel. Restaurant Il Tempo de Minerva is a 5 minute walk & is affordable authentic Italian & recommended.

United KingdomWe were happy with everything
We liked the staff who were friendly and the location. It was a 15 minute walk from the station and a 15 minute walk to the colossuem. Although there is a tram/metro stop right outside. We felt welcomed at reception and at breakfast each morning. There was plenty to choose from.

UkraineThe food during breakfast was not fresh, some waiters were not friendly. 1 coffee machine is not enough for all the guests. No fresh vegetables except of sliced tomatoes which looked also "tired". The waiters always remove the food 15-20 min earlier than breakfast is finished...U feel yourself not welcomed. everywhere you can see the tables "no food/drinks from outside are allowed". The hotel is already in a specific age when some repairs would be recommended.
The cleaning staff was great. The location is good. Pillows are good.

RomaniaThe only bad thing was that the first night we stayed at another hotel, Best Roma, were conditions are lower than expected for 4 star hotel.
The location is very good, close to the metro station, and bear points of interest. Breakfast was nice, italian style. The room was clean, and the bathroom was clean, too.

United KingdomThe location may be considered to be a distance from some Rome landmarks, it's about 1km from the Colleseum. However it is close to the metro, buses and trams and not too far from Termini for getting around. We personally did not find it a big issue and walked predominantly, but also used public transport.
Excellent hotel of a good standard, helpful staff and excellent buffet breakfast.

CanadaThe washroom door (pocket door) would not shut properly. It was likely only a problem in my room and to keep the door partially shut we had to be creative. It wasn't a huge deal and I didn't mention it to the front desk, since we were only staying for one night. However, if I was traveling with someone I didn't feel comfortable with having the door open, I would have said something.
The room was very spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. We got a really good deal on booking which helped. The hotel was right on the subway line and only a couple stops away from the main train station, which was very convenient. The staff was very helpful in calling us a cab and making us dinner reservations.

North MacedoniaThe breakfast was ok if you are first in the breakfast room. The hotel was not refiling food, so it was like first come first served and that's it. Also, the taxi service offered was much more expensive that the taxi's from the airport.
The hotel facilities and the location are great. There is a metro station just across the hotel, which makes the commuting in the city super easy.

United KingdomPoor sound proofing in the rooms. We could hear all the traffic right through the night and all the chatter in the corridors. Alot of this is down to individuals being inconsiderate
Location was ideal for jumping on the metro. There's a lovely courtyard out the back to sit and have a few drinks and cigars. Would come back again
