Excellent in every way. Quiet location but close to Stresa. Stunning views. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Excellent homemade food and very warm welcome. A very pleasant stay. We could not fault it. We will be back!

The couple that runs the relais were wonderful. They were friendly and spoke several languages. They provided great recommendations, wonderful simple food, and a warm welcome. They remained friendly and efficient even when things got busy. They are a classy pair. The accommodations were fabulous and the grounds quite lovely with a wonderful view of the lake. The surroundings were very quiet. They even had EV charging!

We were very well received. The situation overlooking the Maggiore lake is exceptional. The breakfast is varied and they are always looking to please us. Also, the hotel is five minutes drive from the boat to Borromeo islands.

I don't normally leave reviews but we've just got back from a long weekend on Lake Maggiore, and I can honestly say the Relais Casali della Cisterna was fantastic. Its a beautiful hotel, with brilliant owners that made our stay really fabulous! I would highly recommend 👌

The location is beautiful you have to pay for the breakfast but it’s wonderful and parking is free the owners really know what they are doing and are quite gracious and offer a lot of help and advice and that location is beautiful the hotel is beautifully decorated with a great view

excellent 👌 we arrived in the very early morning (0800) because we were driving all night. the normal check in times are at 15.00 and we were told we could check in at about 1400. for now we could enjoy breakfast which cost about 14 euros pp. its well worth it! breakfast consists of enough options and also some which are made a la carte. the quality of the food is very good, the pastries are selfmade, and lots of very high quality ingredients seem to be used because you can taste how well its done. its not just because the quality of the breakfast that you should enjoy it. the breakfast area is a very tranquil place and has some excellent views of lago Maggiore. well worth to simply enjoy it even if you arent a breakfast person. during breakfast we were told a room was ready and we could already check in (10.00). This room was a free upgrade to a higher level, just because of Italian hospitality. The people who run the hotel are not the owners but they seem to take great pride in running an excellent hotel. We asked multiple questions and they gave us good advice on possible things to do and/or how to get there with also multiple options. There is a parking area outside of the gate and also inside if you want extra security, both are free to use and are plenty big.

I don't often take the trouble to post reviews, but the staff really deserve a positive review. They managed to pull off the perfect balance between casual and professional, between friendly and courtesy. From the reception desk to the porters. While I'm at it: very comfortable, large bed, spacious room, big bathroom. All very nice.

Beautiful view from my room. Absolutely delicious breakfast (best omelettes!). Wonderful personal touches by both Simona and Alberto. They were very kind, accommodating and gave us personally tested recommendations for restaurants nearby. Definitely try their home made "Orange cello".

Stunning location and beautiful. The hosts are wonderful and couldn’t do enough for us . The accommodation is so clean and the smelt amazing - honestly this hotel is stunning .

The only complaint I have were the towels, which smelled as though they had been left wet for too long before being dried. They were large and clean, but they smelled sour. It's the only negative, and I can only assume it was just a bad batch of laundry.

The rooms are old, therefore the furniture is very sensitive and sometimes it smells a bit.

The view out of the window is exceptional - like in a fairytale. The garden and the flowers are extremely beautiful and the scent around the garden is like a natural light perfume which lets you calm down after a hectic week. The breakfast was delicious!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast by order (rather than buffet) worked well for this size of hotel, ensured fresh food and eliminated waste.
