Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We loved everything about Chalet Lidia. It was a little sanctuary away from the hustle of the town but yet only minutes stroll away. The whole family were so welcoming and constantly checking in to see if they could do anything. The pool area was great, very clean and so relaxing. From arriving to leaving we were treated like royalty. Mama even made us pizza one night! Just an amazing family ❤️

AustraliaNothing.
Chalet Lidia is a hidden gem, a secret and tranquil garden full of flowers and birdsong in the centre of Sorrento. If you are fortunate enough to stay here you will be treated like friends of the family. Be prepared to extend your stay - you won’t want to leave.

United StatesNothing. Everything was perfect.
This place is absolutely phenomenal. One of the most unique and incredible properties i have ever seen. It is a magical and peaceful garden oasis in the middle of Sorrento. The family that own and run it are so friendly and welcoming. You are treated as if you are relatives visiting from out of town. Stunning garden with multiple lemon trees, roses, flowers, sparkling pool and hammocks. Everything in town is a short walk away. They offer cooking classes and a yummy homemade breakfast. This place is almost surreal. I imagine it's often booked but if you can find it available it doesn't get better than this. Incredible.

United StatesThe breakfast prepared by Angelo was excellent. Every day we had a beautifully prepared table with so many options. Breakfast was always ready on time and Angelo explained the daily pastry which was always delicious. There was always fresh fruit available. Every day was something new and different! The grounds are beautifully kept. It’s like a little oasis inside the gates. Everyone on this property was helpful and courteous from our friendly greeting to Angelo carrying our bags to our taxi. I can’t wait to return to this beautiful property. Thank you for a perfect stay in Sorrento! ❤️

United KingdomIn our opinion, there is nothing to improve at Chalet Lidia.
The accommodation is in the centre of Sorrento accessed by a gate into a beautiful tranquil garden area, and very large chalet (suite). The suite had a huge bed, combined lounge and kitchen area, a walk through space with a wardrobe, and large bathroom. Outside we had a porch area to sit and have breakfast and relax. There is also a lovely pool for guests to enjoy. Guiseppi was the perfect host and provided valuable assistance to us throughout our stay. Guiseppi helped with our onward ferry booking to Naples and also drove us to the port on our last day at Chalet Lidia.

United StatesAt Chalet Lidia, we truly felt like part of the family. They all did such a great job welcoming us and helping with whatever we needed. The location is perfect- close to town as well as the fishing village- but felt quiet and quaint inside the lemon groves. The pool was great for a day of relaxing. We did both the breakfasts and the cooking class and Angelo blew us away! Such a fun experience. Would stay here again and recommend this gorgeous place to anyone.

United KingdomCouple of visits to our chalet from the owners' over-friendly boxer (my partner is afraid of dogs) - although he was well trained. Some of the extra charges for e.g. cutlery in the chalet. And some noisy American tourists the first evening. But none of those things would deter us from staying here again!
Beautiful property and hosts both friendly + professional. The pool was very welcome, the chalet comfortable and the location was perfect for access to the town and the pretty little marina.

United KingdomLeaving. It truly was paradise!!
Everything!! From the moment we arrived, Giuseppe & his family were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much and they made our stay really magical. The room was perfect; really comfortable and clean. The grounds are just beautiful, and a real paradise away from the busy streets of Sorrento. The pool area is perfect and the option to take part in a cooking school with Angelo was fantastic and great value for money. We opted for breakfast each morning and it was amazing, Giuseppe’s Mum makes the best cakes and croissants - we were spoilt!! They went above and beyond on the last evening as my partner asked if they could host a private meal for us, 4 amazing courses later (thank you Angelo) with Giuseppe’s grandfather’s wine, and a proposal from my partner, I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. They all knew what my partner had planned and made it so special. I can’t recommend Chalet Lidia enough and am so grateful we got to stay and meet such a gorgeous, lovely family too. Thank you!! Highly recommended for couples and safe and great fun for families. We’ll be taking our sons next time. If you want a once in a lifetime stay in a beautiful city, with a beautiful family then book this place, you will not regret it!

Our stay was well above expectations - the most gorgeous & peaceful property with the best hosts we’ve ever had! The authentic Sorrento gardens are absolutely incredible with pretty fairy-lights, lemon trees, plenty of lovely places to sit, the pool is beautiful. Gusippe is incredibly helpful, warm and friendly and went above and beyond during our stay. The whole family is very kind and helpful and provided great local knowledge. Breakfast was amazing. The service was great, with a daily room clean. The location is perfect, with a 5 min walk into the marina, port and town for plenty of restaurants and shops! Hope to stay back here again!

AustraliaThe sweetest chalet with warm decor and a comfortable bed which is nestled in the corner of the garden. Truly feels like a little oasis. Located a short walk from the port and the centre of Sorrento, so a great base for doing day trips. Every single person we interacted with was lovely and so helpful. We booked the breakfast one morning which was a large spread, and we enjoyed chatting with the owner/staff (who made an incredible cappuccino - the best we had in Italy). On my birthday I even came back to the room to find they’d left a bunch of flowers picked from the garden and a note, which was such a lovely touch. We will absolutely stay here again when back in Sorrento. Genuinely lovely people running a beautiful accomodation.

United KingdomThis place was way above our expectations. The whole area is like a little heaven, and the family make every effort to make every single part of your stay 100% perfect. The room was absolutely beautiful and the air conditioning was amazing. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous and just wonderful. The gardens are also fantastic. This family are making a wonderful effort to make the stay an individual experience for everyone. We decided to join in with the cooking lesson which was also very well priced and absolutely a one of a kind experience. We met other travelers and honesrly they were jealous of how personal our stay was and how well located it is to experience the real local Sorrento. If this place is available and you are reading this you really should book this, you won't regret it.

RomaniaI don’t even have words to describe this beautiful chalet with it’s garden! Was more that we have expected, from Giuseppe ( the host ) and his family, that made us feel more than welcomed, to the beautiful city that Sorrento is. A stunning garden with a lot of lemon trees that all the family takes care of, a very nice pool where you can lay down all day and have some drinks from the bar, a very very good home made breakfast and a nice welcoming lemon water from the host. We felt part of their family and the only regret was that our trip was to short. But this is a fact that we will be back and 100% will choose again this chalet.
