Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was a decent size and very clean Breakfast was decent, terrace had a lovely view. The location was super central, allowing me to walk everywhere, hardly had to expend on transport. Only problem was my room was facing to a small street at the back of the building with restaurants and shops, the street was very loud until very late at night so an early night sleep wast really possible.

The location was wonderful for my plans of walking the city. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and updated. The breakfast and rooftop facilities were excellent.

Australiathe rooftop "pool" looks aged, dirty and out of place. its more a baby-sized wading pool, or one to dip your feet in as its only ankle-deep. not being able to take your breakfast up the next flight of steps outside of the restaurant tables (and either eat on the outdoor tables or the cushioned chairs) was disappointing. the room was fairly noisy at night, with the sound of these birds screeching waking us up many times as they were very loud. as the room didnt have double-glazed windows, only single pane glass combined with wooden shutters, this could be improved upon.
the fact that it is opposite the Parliament was amazing, having a minibus full of police literally right outside the hotel door, combined with barricades stopping everyone walking near the entrance and 3-6 police at the barricades who only let hotel guests and politicians pass, makes this the safest hotel in Rome. the room had an amazing view over the piazza and the enormous obelisk, the rooftop had better views of over the city. its location was fantastic, right there in the middle of everything! delicious breakfast as well. the croissants and pastries were very tasty.

CroatiaThe furniture is well kept but really old and not functional at all. There was not a single glass in the room, not even plastic one.
The best part is location and terrace breakfast.

United KingdomGreat until the end. I was told 2 different times for breakfast starting - 7 and 7.30. I had to leave at 7.30 and so I ordered a breakfast box which they didn’t have when I was checking out. Disappointing as I had paid for breakfast.
Very central and easy access to sights and restaurants etc

CanadaThe bed mattress was too soft and the pillows were not comfortable. One pillow was too low and 2 pillows was too high, which causes neck problems. Also vinyl or hardwood floor would be better for cleaning as carpets hold a lot of dirt , especially with people that have allergies and asthma.
The location and breakfast was good!

United StatesThe wifi connection was poor in the rooms. The air conditioning also needs to be improved. The food selection at breakfast was fair - would prefer more fresh fruit, and better selection of cakes and pastries.
The location was excellent - right in the middle of historic center of Rome close to the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. We had three rooms in our group - one was excellent, the two others much smaller.

AustraliaWhile the lobby and bar area has had a lovely revamp, the rooms are looking a little tired and could do with a spruce up. The breakfast could also be improved.
The location of the hotel is excellent. You couldn't ask for better. It is walking distance to all the key sights with lots of eating options within 200 metres. The staff were friendly and efficient - shout out especially to the bar staff. The beds were comfortable and shower excellent.

MexicoFor what you pay and that it’s supone to be a 4 star hotel. The service is not that good. Grumpy receptionist. I asked for a taxi and she never told me I hay to wait for it outside. ( I just saw another guest waiting inside and the taxi men came in to pick them up, not me jaja ) We left the room and our flight was late so we had to wait in the lobby which is beautiful decorated and has tables for drinks. So we had a sandwich we wanted to eat before the flight, and literally they kicked us out to the heat !! The rooms need a little upgrade. The rug is old and smells. I had to take the shoes of to walk inside and not bring more dirt from outside to it.
The location is amazing.

United StatesThe cot for our son was not comfortable. The wait for our room 1:30 PM was a bit late. The military police out front asking us if we were staying at the hotel every time we came through was a bit annoying. But we understand it was necessary.
