Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicBasically all. We were expecting the accommodation to look like in the pictures but the reality was terrible. The hotel is very old, not that luxurious as in the photos. The check-in was very long, we were asked for our passports but the lady was doing the check-in for the previous customers - I mean, finish the previous job and then continue with other customers. We were told that we can pay 5 euros per day for parking, that it is tricky and not possible to park around the hotel, but I have found there are no restrictions in the street above and asked for that. She told us "sometimes they take a car, you know, but it's your decision" to make us feel guilty to not pay the 10 euros per two nights. I love when someone is kind enough to give you truthful information but here, they obviously want only your money. We were parking for free and without any problem. The hotel does not have the title above the entrance anymore. You enter an old hotel that gained its excellence title in 2011, and you can see that everywhere. You enter a very old scratched lift, then a corridor with old and dirty carpets. The room without air conditioning smells like a toilet. You need to keep the air conditioning open in order to get rid of that smell, or closed the bathroom all the time. The towels smell like vinegar, the bathroom is with dirty corners, we spotted some insects coming out of from bath (looking like earwig). You can see the door is destroyed from the bathroom side, with dark spots looking like mould. The to is very smelly, don't even comment the toilet brush. Stream of water is very weak, you cannot wash your hair, and it gets stronger only with cold water - i could not wash my hair for two nights staying there, either with very cold water. We took shower even only once and rather waited for the following accommodation. The closet is smelly, beds are moving on wheels. Our room was even not in the gallery here.

Germanyonly problem is that the personnel seemed tyred. The guy at the Nightshift was working on the breakfast buffet in the morning. Hope that this is not a standard at the hotel.

United KingdomThe single beds were a little uncomfortable (I'm 6'2), fine for a short stay :)
The staff were extremely helpful, the hotel is great value for money and in general the facilities were very well maintained.

United KingdomThe cleanliness of our room was disappointing. Although we arrived slightly early, I would rather have been told our room wasn't ready (if this was the reason for the floor being dirty). My 1 year old had black feet after 5 minutes in the room and it appeared to not have been hoovered for a while.
The staff tried their best to accommodate us, including our 1 year old baby and the male receptionist was particularly friendly. The location is ideal, with just a 30 minute walk to the Stadio Olimpico.

United KingdomAll good.
I always stay here when in Rome, its very close to where I have to be. Parking in front only 5 euros. Excellent Food and Bar Area. Some rooms are tired but this time my room was excellent with a Balcony. Just a couple of minutes walk down to the main street with Gelato, Pizza, Bank amd many more. Excellent value for Rome.

AlbaniaDelayed check-in due to staff meeting. Room was partly unclean. The furnitures were old, using the toilett was a bit of challenge. You could hear the clicks of the keys of adjacent rooms as someone was about to open your room.
Good for spending a night on a budget.
