The beds in the room were horrible. they were hard and uncomfortable.

the property is a short walk from the center of town. The breakfast that was included was delicious and offered varied selections. the entire hotel was clean and up to date.

The smell of the cleaning products was so strong when we got into the room. Rooms are dated but spotless and very spacious.

Location, parking on site, copious breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a short walk from Borromeo islands boat shuttle docks (and hotel gave us a paper to redeem a discount).

This lovely vintage hotel is well maintained, nicely located in Stresa, and has exceptional service. Sylvia checked us in, providing gracious and professional help to ensure we had everything for a comfortable stay. Every hotel employee, the bartender, wait staff and cleaning crew were all excellent. it was so enjoyable to have a lake view balcony with our room so we could have a drink and enjoy the scenery.

Rooms are a little tired but entirely quiet, clean and practical (all I needed). Had to pay for car parking on top.

The mattress was really good (I want one). The breakfast was a good mix and quality. The hotel was in a good location, easy to find and just a short walk to the ferry terminal for the islands.

I personally thought the pillows were a little hard and the rooms not particularly sound-proof, but not bad and the air conditioning made a huge difference.

We liked just about everything. The hotel is a couple blocks from the lake and the ferries to the Borromean Islands which was perfect. We had a room with a lake view, on the 3rd floor, with a small balcony. Perfect, beautiful view. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Downtown Stresa is about approx. a 25 minute walk along the lake. The pool area was very welcoming and enjoyable.

One could hear the trains behind the hotel passing about every hour till midnight. Pool closed too early for high summer season. Small maintenance items in bathroom and passafe made it look less well maintained though we did get the impression it was clean. Slightly dated room, but did have charm.

The location was a lovely 15 minute walk along the lakeside to the main area in Stresa and only 5 minutes to the boats to access the islands. Both the daylight and evening walk are very pretty with great views. The view from the room was also beautiful and the balcony pretty. The pool was clean with good sun chairs. The breakfast had a delicious varied assortment and the served buffet concept within covid regulations was well organised and friendly. A most effective solution to serving a hotel breakfast during the pandemic. Public parking nearby was well lit and easily accessible.

Breakfast was adequate - not a lot of fresh fruit. Coffee was terrible. At times the shower gel wasn’t replenished and replacement of towels was irratic Small bar and lounge area for guests, given the size of the hotel There was road noise as room was at front of hotel.

The staff not very welcome since the beginning and it wasn’t a cheap hotel. The bar closed and indicated to use that one near the swimming pool but it was closed with the shutter down. No free space to park the car around the hotel. The few ones costs 10€ per night (otherwise find a free car park outside). No questions about the stay from the staff. I never seen a bathroom in Italy without bidet. I was expecting a better treatment.

Fan in bathroom sounded like a 747, shower door was broken and one light didn't work. Something was wrong with the wifi could not get on some devices...never had that issue before. A hotel of this standard, servicing overseas guests should have a least one english speaking tv channel...said it had BBC but there was no signal. Girl at front desk did not appear to like that we spoke English, although she could speak it well herself. She was quite curt with us and yet joked around with other guests. (Dining staff were excellent.) The above spoiled what would have otherwise been a lovely few days stay.

Nice style of hotel. Room had a view of mountains but was close to train tracks. Food in dining room was quite nice and reasonable value for money.
