Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOther patrons were noisy at times and the roof fan rattled when operating. A fridge would have been handy as well.
Our room had amazing views looking over to Vesuvius.

CanadaLocation is very problematic for people who don’t drive. The roads are extremelly narow and wih terrible trafic sometimes (especially motorcycles) that pose a high treat of accidents in the immediate vecinity of the property. Otherwise, if paying attention to traffic, you could get an excellent jouney.
Space, beakfast, clean. Excellent wiews, large garden with flowers and benches. Situated in the immediate vecinity of the elevator that goes down to port (Capri, Amalfi boats)

South AfricaThe gentleman who checked us in, as well as the nuns were warm and welcoming. Our room was large and our request for a room with a view was kindly seen to. The view of Vesuvious across the bay was iconic and the water ferry to Positano and Amalfi collects from the pier which was super convenient. One can also swim in the sea in this area. Breakfasts were plentiful and varied. The situation is excellent as it's a short walk to the lift to the beach as well as into the town. The walk to Piano di Sorrento station is only about 20 minutes and one can walk or take a bus into Sorrento. We enjoyed coming back to a quieter space after the busyness of Sorrento and there are restaurants on the beach as well as in the town. The gardens around the convent are well kept and looked exceptional at this time of the year. We would stay here again.

United StatesThe breakfast had many (packaged) choices, as well as cold cuts and cheese. However, not as elaborate as other places we’d been to in Italy.
The location was great with exceptional views! Only a 12 minute walk to the train station and a 2 minute train ride to Sorrento.

GermanyThe quilt was a little thin and I slept a little cold. And my room faces the street and it was very noisy. It's a shame I can't see the coast from the room.
The sisters were kind enough to help and the room is cleaned every day. The view outside the monastery will be an unforgettable memory. The coast at sunset is very beautiful.

EstoniaNothing to mention - just be aware that this is not an ordinary hotel. Room is a bit dated and outworn, but it has all the basics and necessary.
Great location - 10 min walk to train station and bus stop. Wonderful view and garden. All clean, comfortable, peaceful and really quiet. All the nuns extremely nice and friendly. As a single female traveller, I felt really safe there.

United KingdomIt must be remembered this is basic accommodation with no hotel facilities such as a bar or places to socialise of an evening. Saint Agnello itself is very limited in what it offers, particularly of an evening; places to eat etc.if you don’t want a train ride, to Sorrento.
Plenty room. Great views. Nice breakfast. Nice staff.

IrelandThe road outside the convent is very busy but had no footpath. This is typical of the entire Amalfi area. It was quite frightening to me. I was a little disappointed that there was no fresh fruit for breakfast. The circumvesuviana train is in my opinion a disaster. Hot, crowded stopping at every stop. Better to wait a few minutes more for the express which is the same very reasonable price.
Tranquil, clean and comfortable stay. My room had the most beautiful view over the bay. The gardens were full of flowers and plants with many areas to sit and relax. There is a terrace on the third floor with panoramic views of the bay. This is a working convent so one needed to be respectful and to remember that one must be in by 11.30 p.m as the gates are locked then. The sisters were kind and helpful. My bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the powerful shower. Soap, shower gel and toilet paper were plentiful. Linen and towels are changed every three days. The Caffe espresso in the machine in the breakfast room was surprisingly good. There was fresh bread, croissants, cheeses and meats as well as cereals and fruit juice for breakfast. The train station serving Sorrento and all stops to Naples is a five to ten minutes walk depending on fitness and luggage. The elevator to the two or three beaches is a short walk from the convent and costs €1. Turn right for the best beach, in my opinion. The town of Sant Agnello is full of shops, cafes and bars. It is not crowded with tourists.

United KingdomGreat place to stay for an amalfi coast holiday. It's convenient, just 15 min walk from the train station (piano or sant'agnello) and easily accessible to sorrento and the sita bus along amalfi coast. But the town is much quieter than those main tourist draws. Our room was basic but comfortable and comes with good buffet breakfast. The best part of our stay was enjoying our sunset dinners al fresco, overlooking the local marina, with whiffs of tea olives and wisteria. Lovely!
