on our first day there were works being carried out on the upper floor in the afternoon which we could hear in our room when we went back to the hotel to have a rest.

Although the rooms need to be upgraded, we always choose to stay at the Excelsior given its location and view. It was our 5th visit in the last 3 years.

The room’s decoration is a bit outdated, but it is clean and very spacious.

We were so glad the hotel had a valet because parking there is impossible. The location is amazing, right at the entrance of the village. Wish they had showers instead of bathtubs though since I was traveling with older people. Also great little balconies with views on the Etna. The breakfast was great too, with tons of options. They also have a pretty cool bar with live music.

There is parking for small vehicles only.

The Excelsior has an excellent view of Mt Etna and the sea. And the location at one end of the historical city center is perfect for walks and for visiting the Greek theater. The breakfast offerings are extensive and well prepared. The front desk is an excellent source of suggestions for walking tours, and very accommodating to requests. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room's are dated and the tv is very small. Breakfast wasn't particularly brilliant, especially for a four star hotel.

Room a little tired but has everything you need. Evening external bar service poor.

Brilliant location, could not be better. Right at the entrance to the pedestrian area of Taormina within very easy walking distance of all the sights, main shopping street, restaurants, bars etc. Valet parking is a great asset. Breakfast was fine, terrace outside hotel great for drinks and views. Swimming pool is beautiful, albeit a little bit of a walk down the hill.

The room had a balcony. I had a corner room with an amazing view of the bay and hills, the size of the room was very generous. The pool and gardens were excellent, also with great views.

No hot water in our room without running the tap for 30 minutes! Changed room for third night. Restaurant staff not welcoming.

Some upgrading needed to the rooms as look a little tired in parts but nothing major. The pool needs a good clean due to the dirty rim around the edge. The outdoor area leading to the pool is beautiful, though seems underused which is a shame. The breakfast - fruit and pastries were delicious but overall I think the breakfast for a four star hotel was a bit of a let down. The scrambled eggs did not look consumable.

Superb views of Etna and over the bay and sea, this was the best part about the hotel and enjoying a few drinks at the front in the sunshine. Location was perfect, on the edge of the town. The rooms were fine, the traditional decor is part of the charm of the hotel. Staff were all great.

Pool drinks on the expensive side, 6 euros for a coke. Also when there was a wedding being set up they are clearing the pool furniture away whilst you’re sitting there and it makes you feel like you’re in the way. Same in the bar

The hotel needs to be renovated. The noise of the upper floor room water circulation was very high.

The location is perfect, the breakfast is good. The music in the bar was very nice. The staff is very friendly.
