Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Breakfast was absolute terrible, was not flow to serve, many sessions far from each other, we could not see clear what was on offer, extremely bad arrange. All should be in a U zone so clients can see what is available. No separated mix as it is either you put everything inside in a U zone, or all outside with is more pleasant. Breakfast is a logistic presentation. Is one of the worst we seen.

United KingdomWe found car hire essential as the hotel, though scenically located, it is not walking distance from the centre of Porto Cervo or any restaurants apart from the Hivaoa which was very good but not for every evening and Sardinian taxis are expensive - 25Euros to Porto Cervo, 40Euros to Baja Sardinia in June/July. Although not a big problem, our dressing table drawer did smell of damp so we didn't use it and the dressing table chair legs really do need to have felt added to their feet. Many days we were woken up by the early rising occupants of the room above scraping their chair across the floor. Other than that there were no problems with soundproofing.
Hotel was somewhat sprawling which meant there was some small new discovery each day. The sea and surrounding countryside views are superb. Our room, on the first floor of the main block, was simple but not dated as some have found and the air conditioning was effective and very quiet. The ensuite bathroom had clearly been recently upgraded and all facilities worked well. The main building, restaurants and bar were minimalist and chic. Breakfast was comprehensive and consistently good as was lunch at the pool bar and dinner on the few occasions we ate there; prices were reasonable. The pool was a good size and always clean. Staff were friendly and efficient and, though our room was serviced every day, we were never disturbed by the chambermaids.

GermanyWhile the hotel's location amidst natural beauty, near the sea, the overall experience did not match the expectations of a four-star establishment. The high room rate 290 EUR per night and additional charges for amenities, like bottled water(3 euro for a small bottle of water in the room), seemed excessive. Dining arrangements were inflexible, I had hoped to enjoy a relaxing dinner at the hotel's restaurant around 9 pm, only to be informed that the kitchen had already closed. It was disappointing to discover that the hotel required advance booking for dinner during the summer season. Such rigidity in a four-star establishment left me feeling less valued as a guest. Furthermore, I found the demeanor of the bar staff during the evening to be less than welcoming. Their bored expressions and lackluster attitude towards guest inquiries or requests left much to be desired in terms of service. Another drawback was the beach sun beds, which were not included in the room rate. Despite the premium price of the hotel, there was no discount offered for this additional amenity. Even the food offered at the bar during lunch left something to be desired. I found the options to be limited and the quality to be subpar for a four-star establishment. Overall, the hotel had its highlights, but improvements are needed to match its four-star status.

United KingdomThe coffee with the breakfast is terrible. How do Italians accept it? You can order coffee from the bar, but it's still not great. The coffee at the beach restaurant is okay. Room maintenance should be tightened up. The safe and air conditioning units in our room needed to be changed. Once we pointed it out it was quickly sorted out though. The shower pressure could be better, but our friends' shower was okay so varies from block to block. I found the bed too hard and when we arrived all the mattress toppers were already allocated so I had to wait 5 nights which wasn't great. Beware the vans for more than 2 people that pick you up from the airport if you are easily car sick. The journey is only about 35 minutes, but it is twisty and our friends had a bad start to their holiday!
The landscaping and gardens around this hotel are beautiful and very well maintained, with an extraordinary amount of colour, really lovely. Very pleasant smallish beach a very short walk away (although you have to pay extra for the parasol and beds, €40 for 2 people when we went). A good beach restaurant. Excellent pool at the hotel which is big enough for lengths with a nice pool bar which serves lunch too. Our room was a good size, not big but not cramped with a terrace over-looking a lush part of the gardens and a good sized shower room and plenty of cupboard space (although no long hanging space!). Really nice staff. My husband was delighted that there was a gym which he had to himself mostly. The area around the hotel is stunning. We didn't rent a car, but Porto Cervo village and marina are walkable (about 20 minutes) where there are supermarkets, shops and restaurants (even a pub in the marina) and there are two excellent restaurants about 10/12 minutes walk away.

SwitzerlandNo coffee/ kettle in the room and if you are checking out before breakfast, no coffee anywhere in the hotel! The receptionist was eventually kind enough to make me a cup of coffee before I headed to the airport at 5 am, but a four star hotel should not have a guest begging for coffee before driving in the dark to the airport. Also, the rooms are quite humid, yes it was raining and stormy, but the insulation in the rooms was very poor. The pool bar only services salads for lunch and the closest restaurant is 1km away and the closest supermarket 6 kms - so it was challenging with a child.
Overall the staff were very nice, especially the pool bar staff and the cleaning staff. The hotel had a beautiful pool area with incredible views over the beach and was less than 5 minutes drive to Porto Cervo

FinlandI did not like ants in the room (surprise!). Also did not like at all the way the lady at the reception just ignored this question. Also, when I called reception for another question their first sentence was "whats your problem", not in a friendly way. At the reception they said you cannot reserve a table at the beach bar but at the beach they say you need to book a table... The room had a smell from aircon. Basically the property is getting bit old. We decided to move to another hotel for the rest of stay. For me its a good 3-star hotel.
The best things here were the size of the pool & kids pool + access to the beach. Also some of the staff were super nice and professional (Ariana for example). Porto Cervo is not that far away, but you basically need a car. Breakfast was OK and service at the pool bar good.

FinlandAt night time, there was too much sound coming through the walls of the bedroom. In the evening time, there was only a buffet for evening meals. It would have been good to have a food menu. Pool bar prices were a little expensive, especially for bottled water because the tap water is not safe to drink. Due to poor public transport options in this region of Sardinia, the only way to travel is via taxi and these are really expensive. 90-120EUR one way to/from Oblia airport and in the local area 35EUR for a 2km ride to a local restaurant. Rental car is highly recommended.
The location of the hotel is excellent with views of the sea from the rooms and pool. Secondly, the hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. They always went out of their way to offer a premium service above and beyond expectations. At breakfast time, the staff were friendly and greeting all guests. The pool was a great size and was perfect for relaxing. The beach was only 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Porto Cervo centre and harbour are only 1km walk away. Two staff members that made our stay extra pleasant were Luca, the Pool bar waiter and Alberto the Lifeguard. Thanks for a great week at Grand Hotel in Porto Cervo.

FinlandWould be nice to have a grocery store closer. The hotel is quite pricey also when it comes to any drinks or snacks; one Aperol 12€. We didn´t have a car, but I would recommend having one. Getting around with taxis is relatively expensive.
Our first thought was that the hotel and room didn´t quite live up to the expectations for a 200€/per night room (Sea view room) However I think in this hotel you are not really paying for the room to be nice or the comfort of the bed, but the location, view and facilities around the hotel. The beach of Cala Granu is a very nice "extension" to the hotel surroundings. Breakfast was good, nothing special though. The quality of the dinner was actually better than anticipated. Most of the staff were helpful and served us well, but somehow you got the feeling the season was about to come to an end and the energy was not there anymore.
