How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Food awful at the main restaurant. Some personal items went missing and very poor customer service overall
Swimming pool and bar staff although one had to wear swimming caps which wasn't mentioned on booking? Why not?

Old infrastructure, old model bathroom, bed not comfortable. Nothing of a 4 star. Had a blackout too, so no power and water for hours. Had to struggle with no lift either. Extending check out time by even 1 hour was not allowed. Managed to get an upgrade due to poor room quality.

I asked for an invoice, they couldn't print it bc of a printer issue. Later, I asked for an invoice per email but they wanted me to send a copy of my passport first. That's insane, no need to send. Who could it be else than me asking via booking?

The rooms were very poor, very tired decour that looked like it had not been updated in 30 years or more, toilet had a leak, tv didn't work & bathroon had torn strips in bath

Sun bed collapsed.hurt my back and neck. Saw four other beds do the same. The white sun beds need changing. Apart from that lovely. Room very basic and small. Changed to larger room which was worth the extra money.
Swimming pool area. Superior room much better than classic..

The air con didn't work, it barely gave out a dribble of cold air, which in mid June made for a terrible night's sleep. Room was basic, furnishings looked very tired. Hair dryer didn't work. Cupboard door to the fridge didn't close. For 150 euros it was terrible value, would've paid no more than 50 if the air con worked.
Good location. Plenty of breakfast options.

air conditioning didn’t work, so had to move rooms definitely not 4*, yet you pay 4* prices dusty in the room, cracks everywhere very dated furniture lifts are super old, was scared every time I used

This hotel is very well run and the staff are highly understanding and professional. The breakfast is excellent with a varied choice and the rooms are in very good condition. The location of the hotel is very good being only a short walk to the historic centre.

curtains hanging off the rail, bedrooms very outdated with the furniture and the lighting system. Very good for conferences and bus tours but individual occupancy it’s a very tired hotel.

Nothing it was great.
The breakfast included was very nice, the chocolate croissant was delicious! The staff were nice and helpful and the bed was comfy. We very much enjoyed our stay.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. My stay at Hotel Tiziano is the worst hotel-related experience of my life. It is in my opinion the worst 4-stars hotel in which I have been. I planned to spend 6/7 days in this hotel. Unfortunately, 30 minutes after my check-in I needed to go away because of severe and unexpected family problems. Strangely enough, I payed 466 euros at the check-in and THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A SINGLE EURO BACK. This means that they charged more than 15 euro per minutes. I even asked them to charge just 2 or 3 nights but they denied my right to receive some money back. This is a clear example of their decadence. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY AT THE CHECK-IN.

Overall look was worn out. Buffet reakfast was disappointing - scrambled eggs were dry and dished out by server (corona?). Cheese, ham, bacon also dished out by server. No vegetable. Superior room with parking lot view, antiquated decor. Weak WiFi.

The air conditioning was apparently switched off at that time of year (late October). However, the weather was still warm and the room was therefore extremely hot to sleep in.
Great location. Accessible to all the sights of Lecce. Good breakfast. Excellent staff.

The paint the walls of our room had paint coming off very clearly. The TV didn’t work and had a loose wire exposed. There were ants in our bathroom and even in the bed in the morning. This was far from a 4* experience.

The room was very old and in very bad shape. None of the employees wore a face mask, and many customers either. Unbelievable that this places is 4*.
Nothing really, this shouldn’t be considered as a 4* hotel, the room was awful considering the high price we paid.
