Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoThe place is located right in fron of the train station, which is convenient for your arrival but not so much if you plan on going out a lot. It is a clean and calm place with friendly staff.

Staff was really very nice. All of them. Breakfast was OK Location: it is right across the railway station and next to the bus/coach station. It is good for a tourist since it is between the 2 major locations where the tourist attractions are.

MaltaWe arrived around 3pm, and the area seemed very rough and dodgy , the photos outside of the hotel seemed very acceptable and nothing like was described to me on the photos. The Facade looked clean and well kept but in reality was kept quite shabby and filthy looking. The pictures that I will be uploading shows neglect and personally shows irresponsibility of keeping up and maintaining the hotel. The chair looked filthy and uninviting, walls in the bathroom starting to come off, torn net in the room.
The gentlemen on Sunday morning was very helpful and made sure we had all we needed for our breakfast which was the highlight of the stay.

PolandIt was dirty and smelly, sheets and bed blankets smelled terrible. Very hard to be in the room actually. From 10 days stay in Sicily this hotel was the worst and not the cheapest.

United StatesThe lovely town of Agrigento, Sicily built on a hill 100’s of years ago all very charming however between the hill climb and stair climb it’s a workout. Not so good on bad sciatic nerves. But the workout was worth it.
Welcoming! Where old meets modern and new! The host, Gino, greeted us and carried a bag or two to the property. After completing paperwork we were shown the property. A lovely room and an up to date bathroom. The bed linens and towels were fresh and new. There was a nice set up for breakfast, including coffee. We met a fabulous taxi driver who took us to the important sights. He made our visit to Agrigento perfect.

This place is excellently situated right across from the train station, and it's just a pleasant 20-minute walk to Ortigia Island. The staff is outstanding, the rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is delicious.

United KingdomThe only downside of the location is if you leave the windows open at night, it can be a little noisy with traffic in the morning.
We booked 4 rooms of various sizes. The rooms were all clean and quite adequate for our needs. They were cleaned and fresh towels each day. Breakfast was continental and there was always enough to eat no matter what time you turned up. The location is excellent, train station across the road and the bus station round the corner. Several bars and restaurants near by and just a 10 minute walk on to Ortigia. Excellent value for money.

SpainThe rooms were extremely dated and the images online did not represent the experience that we received. Although we expected some noise as it is on a busy street. All through the night it was extremely noisy and the windows do not cancel out any noise.

AustraliaWe booked a 'Economy Double Room (1 Double Bed). When we checked in we were given a room with a (1 1/2 Sized bed as described by reception - see photo attached). Reception would not consider moving us to a room with a double bed. We are two adults in our 60's, I am 6' 2". We had an incredibly uncomfortable night. Also very small shower, with a broken shower door. Location was a long walk from the main attractions of 'Ortigia'.
Nothing.

United StatesI had no disappointments.
Super location, 25 meters across from Siracusa Centrale, around the corner from the inter-city and local buses, and walkable if you like to Ortigia, to the interesting archaelogical park, and to Basilica Santa Lucia al Sepolcro to enjoy the Caravaggio masterpiece of the burial of Santa Lucia. Please note: Chiesa Santa Lucia alla Badia near the Duomo has only a reproduction of this painting. Good, clean, comfy accommodation. Helpful, willing staff, although without much English. Quite a nice breakfast. Was sold out both nights of my stay and was well-patronized by Italian guests. Highly recommended, in an enchanting city.
