Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoisy, not cosy just basic bedroom. No restaurants close by, but good position for the buses which were excellent
Breakfast good, good coffee made for you, nice croissants. My room was very noisy on the ground floor with lorries just outside the window. But very clean if small. No table or chair so it was the bed or nothing. Bedclothes changed very day and spotless. Hot water took 10 minutes to reach the shower! Lovely staff and good value.

LuxembourgStreet traffic noise is an issue here, unfortunately.
A somewhat basic hotel, but clean and welcoming, and very reasonably priced. Convenient for the train station, and within walking distance of everything the visitor needs in the city. All in all not bad value.

United KingdomThe location was the major reason for staying here. A minute to the train and bus stations and say 20 minutes to the achealogical park and the same in the opposite direction to the old town area. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is simple and served in the little cafe-cum-reception area. The staff were helpful in assisting with checking travel arangements. A good option if you want to cover a lot in and around Syracuse in a short time. Note that eating places nearby are ok-ish cafe/takeaway (we took pizza back to our room) or not that great. Better to walk into the old town.

SpainUnfortunately, there is a restaurant with a kind of karaoke in front of the hotel and it is rather noisy at night.
Nice hotel, just in front of the train and bus station. Not far from the centre, though, 15-20 minutes walking or so. It is a nice hotel with an excellent breakfast (salad and sweet) and a big terrace to take it. Gentle service.

United KingdomRoom was on the ground floor so quite noisy with guests coming and going, but I sleep with earplugs when away anyway due to general hotel/guest noise so it didn't bother me too much. Window opened on to what looked like a building site, so I didn't feel comfortable opening the curtains at all during my stay. If the noise of trains bothers you then it may not be for you, but I didn't notice them too late at night/early in the morning.
Location was about 15-20minute walk to Syracuse Old Town which was good. Bed was very comfortable, shower was decent, air con unit seemed relatively new which was a definite plus in the heat we had! Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Right by the train station which was a plus for us as we were travelling Sicily by train.

United KingdomMore care with deep cleaning and an attention to detail could be improved in the room as there are some things noticed e.g: mould on the shower screen, dusty AC blades, an odd smell, old broken wall AC control unit was a bit of an eyesore, an empty picture frame on display... Photos are slightly misleading with regards to quality.
Very convenient location right near the train station and about 20 minute walk to the Duomo area on Ortigia. The room had clean sheets and towels and the bed was relatively comfortable. Very friendly welcome and nice gentleman on reception - the kindest greeting we've had on arrival so far in Sicily actually. Nice AC reception - this is also the breakfast area, breakfast is basic, much like most of Italy. The room was spacious (basic and slightly dated, the fixtures need replacing) but given the price we paid, it provided all the bare essentials - bed, AC, nice hot shower, TV -and therefore we couldn't complain. Common areas appeared clean and all the staff we came across were mostly helpful. Hotel Como is absolutely fine for a night or two if you have basic needs and aren't very fussy.
