How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Could have help send our luggages to our room after we returned from early check-in.
Breakfast has varieties and different menu from day to day. Good rooftop restaurant and friendly staffs.

Room was a little noisy due to a fan in ducting. Thought it was the air con but wasn't.
Hotel was very clean. Very helpful staff. Breakfast had a wide range of choices.

We only slept here but the staff was very kind, the hotel felt nice, clean and safe, and the location was wonderful. We walked everywhere from here but it also has great locations to the metro.

Expensive for the size of room we had but I think that’s Rome all over atm
The hotel was clean although the room we had was a bit on the small side it did have a large balcony which was great. The rooftop bar at the hotel is awesome although a little pricey it’s well worth a visit. As mentioned in previous reviews the breakfast is great. Good location on major public transport roots.

The rooms are modest, not a bad thing, just not amazing if you are staying more than a night or two.
The hotel was clean, nicely decorated and the staff was very nice. It was easy to book, check in, and check out. Always felt safe. We did visit the restaurant/bar and really loved it - nicely done, staff was very nice.

The restaurant and rooftop bar, which is operated by a different company, was super busy around 9pm when we went for drinks. We got served after a short while nevertheless. Best to take a drink after the dinner crowd is gone 👍 and: no nuts, olives or other snacks available if you have drinks 🤔
Breakfast was nice and well rounded for European and American taste. We as a family found everything we desired for! (all self service, freshly baked croissants... great!) Family room for 4 was spacious, bathroom clean and sufficient. Location is great, metro and bus just 1min walk away and the theatre next to the hotel provides for some very Roman atmosphere in the evenings!

It was just too expensive. But then which hotel is not?
Excellent hotel, located in the center of rome. The room was nice and clean with perfect amenities. The breakfast was excellent as well.

A shuttle from airport to hotel without added expense. Maybe if hotel had their own driver staff. It was however very convenient that the hotel staff organized pick I and drop off.
Breakfast was GREAT! Location was extremely convenient! The staff is what made our for an Excellent stay. The room were a bit small for me but extremely clean. I especially appreciated the daily complimentary water and soda/drinks and snack.

I didn’t like the restaurant receptionist attitude. We didn’t reserve a table but went to ask about dinner. Restaurant was empty and she asked if we have a reservation. I thought ( since was empty) we can eat now but she said the restaurant is fully booked and she needs to take a look. Anyway, we just said “arrivederci” and left. They lost…50 mts away from the Hotel is a great restaurant “Nerone” (even full) they accepting us and was great experience. Food and staff are amazing!
