Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe really loved our stay at La Scivitella. The accommodation has everything you need and the view is fantastic. You can reach La Scivitella only on foot and it takes about 30-40 minutes and many steps to walk to Amalfi centre, but I really liked walking down to Amalfi as it is a beautiful way and you have a great view. There would also be the possibility to go to the centre by bus, but we only did this, when we had our luggage with us. Especially the hosts of La Scivitella were very nice and helpful. They gave us all information we needed and supported us during our stay. They also helped us with our luggage and gave us tips for our journey. I would strongly recommend this accommodation for everyone who likes staying in a quiet environment where you can relax with a great view and who does not mind walking a little bit to reach the accommodation.

United StatesVery far from everything and requires lots of walking up steps to get there. Grocery is 20min walk away and not an easy walk. Bus stop 15 min away. Nice villa, but difficult to access. Owners we’re very nice and helpful especially with our bags. Couldn’t imagine carrying all our bags to and from the place with all the steps.
Views and privacy.

United KingdomWife doesn't like lizards and there were quite a few around on the paths. Also, there's quite a bit of walking up and down stairs to the main road. We were ok, but may be a consideration for some.
Very helpful staff. Excellent views from apartment.

Where do I start! This beautifully decorated one bedroom apartment was comfortable and welcoming. The views were absolutely spectacular and Alessandro, Giuliana and Rossellat were always there for anything you need. Everything was made available from tea, coffee, sugar, pasta and sauce if you were unable to get to the supermarket on the day of your arrival. It was very safe and secure, lovely modern bathroom and kitchen. WiFi was great considering how high up you were. There was a supermarket (La Florida) around 10 mins away and 30 mins walk to the Amalfi City Centre (remember to bring good walking shoes for the stairs!). It was a real shame to leave and would highly highly recommend this beautiful place. Key call out to Alessandro for bringing my bags up to the apartment and back down, it was greatly appreciated! 😁👍

AustraliaThe apartment can be quiet difficult to get to for those who aren't used to a lot of stair and cardiac work! However it is only 10 minutes worth of steps and the stairs aren't too step. The location doesn't have any supermarkets closely, or many restaurants. However this is also easily remedied with a quick bus trip to Pogerola or Amalfi, with 15 to 20 minutes each way from the closest bus stop to the apartment.
The view was spectacular, especially in the way up and at the apartment itself. The apartment was fully furnished with the main necessities and had everything we needed. The hosts are very responsive which added to a great stay.

United Stateseven though the listing states it is a couple hundred steps it is a longer trek to the steps than anticipated. there is a long path before the steps. had we known that more clearly we would have reduced luggage to only what was necessary for our three day stay rather than taking full luggage. once you are there it is beautiful but it’s not a walk I would take multiple times in a day. this could be my error but I thought the beach and ocean were closer once reaching the bottoms of the steps but that just brings the to street level and then it’s a bus ride to the beach. again it’s a wonderful property but plan to stay out for the day and return only at the end of your day. pack food , drinks and snacks for your stay .
loved the view and the accommodations. The staff was incredible. Alessandro and Guilana both were very helpful answering questions in person and online and what’s app. Alessandro is Hercules reincarnated as he hauled our luggage the twenty minutes up and down stairs and pathways to this secluded , quiet and private setting. it is accessible to downtown Amalfi by bus but it away fro the crowd. Alessandro had pasta and sauce available at the property when we arrived- thankful as we were tired upon arrival. parking our car was made available for a fee.

United KingdomWhilst it is lots of walking to get to main roads via the steps shown, there is an easier way via walking back to the main road and using the bus connection to get to local shops. The walk to a local market shop is about 30 mins via some steps/the main road. Make sure if you want this property you do not mind a bit of walking, once you work out the best walking route for you it is lovely and relaxing with beautiful views, lemon trees everywhere, and local dogs and wild lizards around to view along the walks. You must be reminded then when visiting Italy most shops are closed on Sundays unless u are in the centre of touridt towns, if you are looking to shop on the day you arrive and it is a Sunday you may need to travel into the town centre if you stay here. Buses are regular enough and go to various locations for exploration whilst the roads are very twisty and you must allow time for traffic as buses can become stuck on the windy roads. There is a local bus app which is not mentioned called Unico Compania which made buying bus tickets very easy instead of going to local tobacco shops to buy them.
The views were beautiful. On site crops that were growing that we could use if we wanted to. Easy to get to local town to explore. Loving walks through the mountain. The sun was up from 8am until about 4/5 when it went behind the mountain so sunbathing at the property was perfect for days we did not want to go out. Towels provided along with complimentary bottles of shampoo and soap, a few teas and coffee for first night provided along with a bag of pasta and tin of tomatoes. Washing machine on site. Alessandro the host was very lovely, he met us at the taxi drop off point and walked us up to the apartment and even held our luggage along the 20 min walk to the apartment from the road. He was always on hand if we needed anything and was very polite and friendly. The views and the apartment were so beautiful that we got engaged on the roof too balcony during a nighttime meal, thank you for providing a beautiful location to start the next step in our journey

PortugalThe walk to Amalfi is around 20-30mins going down the stairs. We did not try to walk up, it seemed too challenging. For young adults its a good excersize but might be difficult for older people. There is a bus down the hill that takes you to Amalfi but its still a bit of a walk to it. Be prepared for stairs and loads of walking.
The place is amazing, something that is hard to find... Away from the city and the noice, basically in the mountain. The views are just stunning. The flats are well equipped, with everything you need. Alessandro is super helpful and very kind. I would definitely want to return.

CanadaThe indications to how to get there was very poor. We didn’t know where the bus stopped so we wouldn’t have to walk up more steps than needed. It is important that your legs are in good shape before arriving to this nice place, because I had to rest for at least a whole day so my legs would get better from going down the 29 floors is stairs.
The view is spectacular.

PortugalThe access to the location is really difficult, you have to go through really a lot of stairs or do a 15/20 min walking way with several ups and downs. It’s impossible to take the car to close to the property and you need the car for everything as the apartment is far from everything. If you want be in and out the house or if you’re thinking in arrive late in night, this isn’t the best place. Parking is also an issue obviously, the hosts tried to help and provided us a potential parking for a fee however it was too far from the apartment to be valued.
The apartment is a really nice house not too big neither small, with everything that you need and a great terrace. It’s very calm and with a great view, wonderful to enjoy during a long time and if you want to spend time at home.
