Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe entire experience was fantastic- there was nothing i did not like.
Fantastic host who met me for check in , they gave me all the privacy and were ready if i chose to ask any questions or make any requests, the house was unbelievably well located- directly next to the most beautiful cathedral in all of monopoli which i had no idea about until i arrived and saw the stunning beauty. The roof terrace has 360 degree views of ALL of monopoli and is a stone throw from the sea front ! This is a must stay location and i can’t wait to come back again ! 5 stars from me - thank you so much !

United KingdomThe bathroom was quite dated and the shower base filled up with water quickly and took a long time to drain. This meant a wait for my husband to be able to shower. We are very pleased we were on the first floor as the stairs up are extremely steep and narrow, think we would have struggled with our luggage.
Good size room, comfy bed. Very clean. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Valeria was lovely let us in early and explained that vouchers were used at a local cafe for breakfast. It was is a very good location. We were able to borrow a beach umbrella which was great as very hot. The roof terrace was lovely and peaceful just quite high to get to!

HungaryLocated in the middle of the historic centre, the apartment, and especially the rooftop terrace is a hidden gem, we absolutely loved it. The hostess Valeria was super flexible with our check in, although we arrived close to midnight. We also liked the breakfast options.

United StatesI would have to be really nit-picky or over critical to say any thing negative about my stay. In an effort to be constructively critical, the shower stall is a bit tight for the space the bathroom affords and offers no storage. for sundries ( soap, shampoo, etc.). The timing of the lights that go off automatically in the stairwell seem too short for the time it takes to ascend and/ or descend from the 4th floor. Again minor details in the bigger picture.
Monopoli, the B&B and the Apulia region at-large where extremely welcoming with wonderful hospitality. This B&B is a medieval watchtower so please expect a ton of steep and narrow stairwells if you are booked in an upper room. If you read the reviews and the complaints about the stairs (which I found absurd and void of any understanding about the structure) then take notice before booking. The views alone were worth the climb. The 4th floor room and the balcony view filled my heart and soul. And the lovely Val, the service manager was an angel. My sincere gratitude to all. Monopoli stole my heart and I hope to revisit sooner than later.

United KingdomNicest roof top terrace we’ve ever stayed in. Definitely the nicest in Monopoli - panoramic views of the sea and get sun until very late as it sets over the churches in the west of Monopoli. The room was very large and the bathroom was nice and clean. the hostel is located superbly well, in the old town and thirty seconds from the bars and restaurants. Margherita provides breakfast tokens for both days - offering coffee and croissants. Our cafe was closed on the first day, so to make it up to us, Margherita bought us a bottle of wine. We weren’t annoyed at all about the breakfast but this shows the excellent level of hospitality on offer. Hopefully we will return to Monopoli and we will definitely stay here if possible.

United KingdomNo Coffee making facilities in the room. We were on the top floor, not a problem for us but this is not an ideal the property if you have mobility issues.
Room was very spacious with a lovely little balcony looking out towards the cathedral. Perfect location just a short walk to the beach / town. We stayed here for three nights and the hosts were very friendly and kept in touch prior to our arrival and all through our stay. We were given tokens for breakfast at a couple of local cafes which was lovely, however, coffee and croissants were available at the property to help yourself but not in the room.

IrelandWe stayed in the apartment at the top of the stairs which is very narrow and steep because it is a historic building so you would need to be relatively fit! The shower is a bit small but that's about it, mostly only great things to say!
Everything else! The terrace at the top of the building has a great view and is a lovely space to chill with a beer or a glass of wine. It is very clean and spacious with air conditioning and a fridge. Annarita and Nico were perfect hosts and always available to help. Nico met us at the edge of the old town when the taxi dropped us off and brought us to the apartment. Perfect location in a beautiful town. Would definitely stay here again.

BulgariaGreat host. Great place. If you would like to feel the Souther Italy vibe this is the place. The house is with tiny stairs, high ceilings, artistic and we phenomenal roof top terrace with breathtaking 360 viee. Next to the cathedral, just minutes from the beach and restaurants, still very calm and tranquile.

GermanyThe room is described as superior, it is certainly not. The bed was not very comfortable, in fact the 2 mattresses in a double bed had a different height. The beautiful view you see in the pictures is from a commonly used roof top terrace that you have to climb to, the view out of the rooms is a wall (house across the narrow street). The mirror in the bathroom is way to low, if you don’t like seeing your face, you’d love it. Despite the fact that the room was cleaned well, details like the deeply yellow color on the bottom of the basically white shower curtain made us feel uncomfortable.
The location is exceptional. It is a nice touch that you get a classic Italian breakfast (caffe and cornetto) at a nearby bar. The room is really big and offers enough space.
