We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It's overall OK experience for 1 night...I need home cooked food for baby so everything is there to cook..so I like that

PortugalThe room was insanely hot and the AC did not work (even though it showed as a feature on Booking). After talking to the person that met us, they are deliberately not fixing the AC. It was one of the worst nights of sleep of our lives. It also said it had Wi-fi on Booking and it didn't in real life. Truly a really bad experience overall.
I guess the bathroom and the location were fine.

If you have no other choice and book last minute, this place is not a bad option, but consider it more like a private room in a hostel than airbnb/hotel room. The room was with a shared bathroom with other people who lived in the apartment. It was an old building and I believe the rest of the people were living there long-term (there was a shared kitchen too). There was an air conditioner but we didn't have the remote control and I cannot tell if it worked or not. I saw the other comments for this room only after we booked the place. I can tell the owner tried to improve some of the things the other guests complained about. Here's what was improved: 1) there was a hairdryer 2) there was toilet paper 3) we had towels (but not white ones, all different colors) 4) the owner was on time, he had to wait for us because we got 15 min late 5) he showed us how to unlock the door as it had some specifics. He was very rude to my friend on the phone, hanging up on her twice. Then I tried talking to him and he was nice to me on the phone, we managed to agree upon an arrival time (between 16h and 22h - don't expect him to make exceptions for early check-in...).
The location was fair, even though 20min walking distance from the train station. It was quiet.

Germany- There was only 1 small towel available, although we booked a room for 3! - There was no toilet paper in the bathroom available - They make you pay extra (in cash) when you arrive. They claim it is city tax, but it is actually just a trick to show lower prices on booking.com and then claim higher prices on check-in. + Room and bathroom were fairly clean + Host was very friendly

ItalyThe cleaning lady put my things in the bin because it was a shared bathroom and when I asked the host about this, she said it wasn't her fault as I shouldn't leave my things in the shared bathroom. After the first night, I woke up with hundreds of red bites / hives all over my body and when inspecting the sheets, they were not clean at all. I had never had this kind of skin reaction before so believe it was due to the room.

NetherlandsNo wifi. No AC. Which were advertised to be there but they are not!!! It was too hot. At least to have a fan would have been helpful. Sleeping with the windows open was awful because the noise from the traffic was very loud, even with closed windows it is very noisy in the room. The rooms dont look much like as on the pcitures.

I kindly asked for a fair discount since we could not stay in the advertised location but we got nothing back. The discrepancies between the advertised apartment and the actual one were substantial. The furnishings, amenities, and overall condition were far from what I expected based on the listing.

AustraliaThe PowerPoint situation was not fantastic, the light switches were in confusing places. The host didn’t even greet me to check in it nearly took 2 hours to check in. It felt like a long time and I tried to ring the host which I had my call declined 4 times. If I could go bsck I would have not stayed there. The lift wasn’t working. Well I couldn’t figure out how to get it working and the host couldn’t answer a text message within 20 minutes so I walked up to level 4 where I got told to go which wasn’t even the right level

ArmeniaOkay, gonna start from the stuff. We were traveling with a group, and we had a 1 yo baby with us. We booked the hotel the same day of arrival. We were in Roma at the moment of booking. After booking, we texted if we can have a late check in (it was mentioned from 4-10 pm.). Actually as we had to drive from Rome to La Specia about 4,5 hours, we were going to be a bit late from 10 p.m. The owner texted back that it's impossible to be late after 10 pm, then stopped replying to our messages at all. We were kindly asking to cancel the booking, as it was a non refundable one. Then we drove 160 km/h to be there before 10 pm. We did it. So, when we texted her that we're downstairs already, finally got a reply. It was the worker, who was extremely rude, asked to show cash. As he didn't speak English, I couldn't explain that we already paid for the room. Fortunately, this part was solved, they didn't charge again. Need to mention, that the worker told us to leave the key on the door and disappear from there at 10 am next morning. I've never faced such a rude behavior to the hotel guest. As for the room: there was no blanket for the 3rd bed. There was absolutely nothing in the room. No sockets (maybe just one), no mirror, and the room was too old. We got extremely disappointed.

Cluttered balcony posing hazardous conditions of tripping. Previous guests sheets were left drying on the balcony. Noisy location and too far from the main shops and central train station.
