The pics are much nicer than the real thing. But, if you look for a basic room in a nice location, this is it.

The hotel is about 15 min outside of Trieste. Easily reachable by bus - the bus stops in front of the hotel. Located at a little harbour with a few restaurants it makes for a nice, relaxing place. The gardens of the Miramar Castle are in walking distance (back entrance).

I could see not having air conditioning might be a detractor during a heat wave / summer. Some small maintenance would have made the room more comfortable (sink faucet was a bit loose, no trash can), but in general, I love staying here.

This is a unique hotel with a lot of character, I like this (but others may not). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, even with my limited Italian. Location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and fairly well kept (even if a bit quirky). Breakfast is simple but appreciated.

I would say many things is in used condition, but this is what gives an unique atmosphere to this place. The port is quite noise during the night, but altogether it was fun.

After a long trip we wanted to stay close to the Miramare Castle, the hotel location is optimal for this. The view of the sea and the port from the room was fabulous. Breakfast was good, the hotel staff was kind and helpful. We had an unusual experience with this hotel but altogether it was nice and good. If you come by car, parking is not easy during daytime due to the near beach parking.

We were told that building is 100 years old and it is full of character and quirky charm. We booked a room with a balcony and sea view which was spectacular. From June to Sept 8 there is a boat that runs from just outside the hotel into Trieste which was 8 euros return. And also near the hotel are two good places to eat. In addition the grounds of the Castle Miramare are lass than a 5 minute walk, free to get in ( pay for entrance to the castle), beautiful and have a cafe. The staff do not speak much English but I had enough Italian to make myself understood and the staff were friendly.

Excellent quite location at sea. Family run hotel. Best for visiting Miramare Castle and Parc. Triest is easy to reach by car or bus. We liked the artistically designed breakfast room/restaurant. The hotel operates a restaurant at evenings. We enjoyed it!

I was left wondered what is the difference between rooms with a balcony and sea view and rooms with sea view, and what justifies the price difference. Most importantly, my partner and I felt very miserably treated at the breakfast. We had stayed for four nights, and it transpired that we only got cheese and bacon in the first breakfast day. For the other days, I had to go and literally ask for bread, to receive two slices of bread. This while other guests would receive cheese and bacon.

Room was outdated and seemed like it was still under construction. Seemed like a poorly finished self-build. That said: everything was functional, bed was comfy.

Location is great and the staff is friendly. Easy trip to Triest by bus, stops right in front of the hotel. Also the restaurant at the hotel is good and the terrace offers a great view.

No toilet roll provided in the room and whilst no air con wasn’t an issue having the window open was noisy from around 6.30am and in the evening until around midnight. Other guests were also noisy in the corridor until late at night and whilst I appreciate not hosts fault was disturbing. The shower was also slow to drain so very slippery.

The location was lovely and the breakfast room and terrace really nice. The staff were friendly although limited English but as in Italy this should not be expected as in England very few speak multiple languages.

I guess the small affordable for the owner repair of water facilities would improve this hotel a lot as well as decent cleaning. The bed was clean and fine though. In the middle of my breakfast I was rudely treated by waitress/employee.. She took my plate and ordered to go to the terrace, because I am here for 30 minutes and other guests are coming. I have never seen such ,,service,, before. The owner later excused himself for her behavior. Very special registration: they wanted to keep my passport for long time, I refused. The room was mixed up, in the new room was a big spider...so... I think in general it could have been an amazing place, a bit of an effort though is absolutely necessary.

The location is amazing. The breakfast choice was good. It has it's special atmosphere and could have been one of the top hotels in Trieste.

The room had no heating and really cold at night in october.

Very kind staff, willing to take us in last minut late at night. We could bring our dog. The room had beautyfull view over the harbour and funny bathing facility with Window. We fell in love with the sorroundings,its a very authentic place.

The room is small, and relatively old fashioned. The bed was god, but the other part of the room can not receive good grades. The breakfast was typical continental, the staff not to friendly. I can not give a good recommendation with my all heart.

Nicely located in the suburb of Triest, within walking distance from Miramare Castle. There is a bus station near of the hotel which connect the with the City Centre, so do you not need the car if you want to go in the city.

A little more attention to cleaning is necessary. The towels provided were very thin but still functional.

The location was great. A short and beautiful walk to the nearby castle and a view over the harbor. Close and free parking. Felt safe and the property management was friendly. Although they do not speak any English we managed just fine!

The breakfast was not bad but could've been better. The room could use a few new lightbulbs, better curtains and a shower curtain.

The location is amazing. Very close to the beach, next to a bus station to go into town. Close to the highway to go to other places. Beautiful view and very friendly staff. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good.
