Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicAbsolutely loved our stay! The owner was incredible, gave us tips for sightseeing, recommendations for restaurants (and even some discount vouchers). He was extremely helpful, let us keep the baggage at the hotel after check-out. The place was also cleaned daily and we also got some refreshments (croissants, drinks, coffee...), which were replaced daily if eaten. Truly outstanding service. It is also very easy to reach the city centre by foot from the hotel. We also got the free breakfast, which you can get at a little coffee shop nearby. So you get the authentic Italian experience. :) I couldn't recommend this place enough!

United StatesThe 5 or 6 steps at the entrance to reach the floor with the elevator. Please note this seemed normal for the buildings on the street.
Breakfast was sufficient within a close walk to the hotel location. Morris the manager/owner was great and went out of his way to accommodate our needs. Restaurants in the area.

HungaryYou must walk for breakfast to another building. The double bed has one large cover. The price of one nigh and also the city tax was very high.
The accommodation was good, the place was clean. My workplace was walking distance. There was fridge in the room with free coffee, tea and drinking water. Nobody disturbed us.

United KingdomThe property is situated in a very nice, safe area within Rome and is a medium distance walk to all the main attractions. Our host went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, including providing us with a lot of information (and a map) of Rome, highlighted the key attractions to see and also accommodated multiple requests of ours. The room was a decent size and has all the facilities we needed.

United StatesWe chose this location because of the proximity to the main rail station. Morris was warm and welcoming, as well as attentive to our needs. Morris advised us of bus and mass transit options and guided us on our adventure of Rome. We felt at home here! The recommendations he also gave us for dinner and gelato were outstanding! We look forward to returning to Rome and would most certainly stay here again.

SingaporeThere's only one pillow provided per person and it is so thin. The extra pillow in the cabinet doesn't smell good even it was kept on plastic so we didn't use it. Nonetheless, the owner immediately took action when we requested for additional pillow the following day. There are also cushions but we don't typically use this as we don't think it is hygienic (in general, any hotel that puts something like it in bed) just our personal take on this type of cushions, on which cover cannot be changed. The owner clearly puts notes on the bed that the room is sanitized. There's no option of bright light in the room, just warm light. Although in the morning, can open the window for additional natural light. Also, we can hear when someone is bathing in the other room. The walls are not that thick.
I like the location. The area feels safe since there are nearby Embassies. There's also nearby pharmacy and about 5-10mins walk to Conad grocery. I also like that there are plenty of nice restaurants to dine. Although it is not that close to walk to the famous tourist spots, there's a nearby bus stop to get to the city center and famous spots. The owner is kind and responsive to questions.

CanadaThe building DOES have an elevator but it is not very easy to spot (walked up 4 long flights of stairs before realizing that there was an elevator!) The shower, although very nice, was very awkward to shower in due to the positioning of the shower head on the side wall. The bed spread and throw cushions need replacing. The area it is located in is not the nicest or cleanist but it is more cost efficient than other areas.
This is NOT a hotel(more of a bed and breakfast place) having said that though, the owner went out of his way to make sure that we had a good stay. He recommended some places to eat and places to see. The Gelateria La Romana was really good! Worth the wait! He also offered to arrange a taxi to the airport for us.

GermanyBeds could be a little softer (personal taste) - Breakfast is just a coffee/cappuccino and a croissant (and you have to walk to an external coffee shop that serves it)
- Super clean rooms - Super Manager - very helpful - Big room (room 404) - Very quiet. - Great wi-fi - all amenities from a 5 star hotel (towel dryer, heating, AC, coffee in the bedroom, kettle, tea, mini-bar)
