Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomExactly my style of hotel. More of a guesthouse rather than a fully concierged place. The staff were constantly available but there isn't a permanent front desk service. The hotel is very homely with an adorable garden where I took breakfast. I felt very relaxed and loved coming in in the afternoon and making myself a proper cup of tea between treks around Venice. Superb location just around the corner from Campo Santo Stefano too. Incredibly helpful and discreet (not in your face) staff.

United KingdomStaff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the whole hotel was incredibly clean, rooms were well appointed and beds comfortable. A great location, central but in a quiet street, close to vaporetto stops. The sister hotel, Hotel Flora also had a great terrace and bar that we could use.

We loved this hotel. The love and care given to the rooms, building, concept, and sustainability was amazing. The staff were also so wonderful. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, and we very much appreciate the strive to eliminate single use plastic. They were also so friendly here, always great with tips, maps, suggestions, and generally just very nice. We loved Venice and our time there, part of it was this lovely hotel. We would stay here again.

Staff was incredible. Felt instantly very welcome and sincerely accommodated. We enjoyed every minute at the Novecento Boutique Hotel. Its cozy and aesthetically arranged with a very own vintage signature, spotless clean, perfectly thought through regarding the breakfast service, and it’s very nicely located to all the touristic hotspots. We also liked the fact, that there is an accesspoint for clean drinking tap water in the hotel. We valued the quality of service & the effort which has been put in details. Absolutely a place we would come again. Perfect for couples..

Exceptional quite location but very close to all the main experiences. Perfect small ,quiet hotel with an excellent and comfortable room. Very private and convivial breakfast area and superb help from the two ladies who manned the reception - organising or leading us to concerts, opera, sights and museums, booking excellent restaurants and travel back to the airport.

United StatesI loved everything, but remember, staying here is more like being a guest in a private house rather than a place where staff hover over you. Some might be nervous that there is not 24 hour reception (entrance by code) or an elevator.
This was one of the most delightful hotels I've ever stayed at. First of all, the staff are a magical group, certain to put you into a good mood. Secondly, for those who appreciate refined, if rustic, elegance, this hotel must rate as among the most atmospheric on earth. Here there is something more than good taste. Whoever designed it is truly an artist; everywhere one looks there is an angle worthy of a painting. The lighting, the colors, the materials-- superb. Sheets are as luxurious as those from Frette, my standard point of reference. Breakfast was also composed of very high quality offerings. Regarding the location-- you are around the corner from the Hotel Gritti, and thus in the very best position in Venice.

Novecento is like a large home with comfortable rooms set around generous sitting areas on the ground and top floors. The very good breakfast is served in the ground floor sitting room and adjoining charming small courtyard garden. The hotel is located on a small alley with a water taxi pier at the end and in easy walking distance from San Marco and the Accademia. The owning family and their staff are all absolutely charming and helpful.

United StatesThe only caveats were: 1. The beds are on the firmer side. So keep this in mind. 2. No elevator so if you have a ton of luggage you'll need to be able to haul it up the stairs.
Ok there's hardly a hotel you come across where almost everything was impeccable but Novecento met this bar. 1. The staff are incredible and very good natured. Lots of communication and help with where to eat, how to get to places and other details only a local would offer. Super awesome. Special Thanks to Nazanin! She was a superstar and I hope you get to work with her. She helped us figure out how to get to the hotel, even made a dinner reservation for us and offered to help us watch our bags even after checkout since we had a later flight. Bravo!! 2 The location is unmatched. Located only 4 mins walk from Saint Giglio stop(pier) which is the last stop for the airport boat ride and the first stop when you head out. Also only 10 mins walk to st Mark's square. And lots of great food options within a few mins of the location. The opera house and other areas are also super close. 3. Breakfast: This place genuinely treated us to one of the best breakfast spreads in the business. We sat at cozy tables where a fantastic (charming) lady served us yogurt, fruit, basket of fresh pastries and made to order coffee (even a personal French press!!) It was magical and they have a lovely quiet garden area where you can sit. 4. Styling: the hotel is family owned and so bears the distinct features of a highly personal and curated lodging. The furniture is antique and well selected adding to the great feeling of being in a city with such a great history.

Absolute stunning hotel interior. Warm welcoming and hassle-free check-in, the lovely secret garden where you enjoy your breakfast and plan the day, romantic room designed to dive into the Venice’s mood and to feel the vibration of the city. Wonderful staff who can help you with everything during your stay (special thanks to Nazanin). It felt like you were most valuable guests. Location of the hotel is also convenient for the bus stops and main spots of the city.
