Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWas disappointed that the pool is not part of the hotel, it is owned by the church next door so you cannot use it.
Breakfast was great in the dining room, staff were all helpful and friendly. We were disappointed to find the restaurant was only open for breakfast but can only assume that is all part of the difficulties post covid $$. The rooms were clean and had a separate area that we were able to put all our luggage and leave open without cluttering up the bedroom. There was also a luggage lift which was great. The shower was fantastic - pressure the best we have had in Europe so far. I found the beds a little hard, I like a soft bed though.

United StatesDue to environmental considerations the air conditioning shut off when the room key was out which led to a very warm room that took a long time to cool off. Also, I thought the 15 Euro/per person breakfast buffet was expensive. It was comprehensive but more expensive than if we had gone out for a quick coffee and pastry. Also, 30 euros for the use of the pool was crazy! We didn't use the pool and wouldn't have if we had stayed for the day but this was a last-minute overnight on the way to our next stop.
We got a room here at the last minute which was nice. It was large and it had air conditioning and was right across from an archeological site across the street. The staff were very nice.

Italythere was no hot water in the showers and they couldn't fix it for the whole day. There was a laundry rack outside the window to dry the wet clothes but it was very dirty and we couldn't really use it.
The hotel is close to the sea with a good view, the location is close to torre dellorso and the price was fair.

SloveniaThe staff was not flexible, you could not get two cards to enter one room, which makes it hard to organise with room mate. The wifi is also not available in the room, just in the reception. Breakfast passable but nothing special.
The location is just a minute or two away from Grotte della Poesia, basically at the best spot. Very nice views at the sea, and nice big balconies.

Italy-Breakfast was for an added cost of 10 euros -if you need anything you have to walk on the side of the road to the nearest town (25-30 minutes)
-The room had a beautiful view of the sea -it is right across the street from the grotta and a 100m or so away from the public beach -The staff were super friendly -The hotel is cleaned on a daily basis (from entrance to rooms to everything) -The bed was comfortable

ItalyPosition very bad - for any place needed travel far. Room was extremely hot (more than 40 degrees), even corridor was cooler, it was impossible to sleep in room. Air condition was switched off if you are not in the room (so basically the full day super hot). Air condition was blowing air right on the bad so it was also not an option to sleep with, also not possible open window as all room with sea view are facing to high traffic street even late night. After 1st night we asked to refund, girl on the reception told that as we did reservation via booking.com so the hotel cannot do anything, that if we booked directly with them would not be a problem. We called booking.com and it was not a problem to give a refund, but hotel didn’t want. Here it escalated and they started to be really aggressive towards us. One girl from the reception even told my wife that she should learn Italian if she wants to come on holidays in Italy. This is somehow racist. Furthermore, I would expect somebody from a reception in an hotel to be able at least to speak / understand basic English.
For this price, I didn’t like anything from this hotel. They take advantage of the high season to charge high price for a poor quality hotel.

United StatesThe pictures presented on the profile make it seem like there’a a park on site and a sandy bitch within walking distance. It also says it has Air conditioning. When we got to the hotel it was close to 105 degrees in our room. We turned the AC on after several hours of the AC being on the room was in the high 80s. I requested to move rooms the only room available with the sea view which I paid for was a single bed. My family which was 2 adults one child and a small dog had to share a bed. That’s fine. But then the front desk refused to give us two keys so I could keep the Air on for my dog while we were out of the room. I had to get mad before they would give me one. When I checked out of the hotel they charged me full price for a two bedroom room when they had to down grade me to a single bed to provide the service I was told I would get. Which was a cool room for my stay and a sea view. If I knew how to get a partial refund I would.
The best thing was the breakfast.
