Nothing that can be changed, not many panoramic views from the room, as per definition, there is not that much windows in the traditional sassi houses. I strongly recommend to take the transport to the hotel (option4)

Very nice.room dug in the rock like the rest of the houses in the sassi. The shower, with hydro-massage, very comforting after a walking day The kindness of the staff, Antonella specially. They gave us a free drink in the terrace bar of the hotel. The views from the terrace bar.

Location was perfect, easy walking distance from most things on the sightseeing list. Views were amazing. The cave room was really cute, bed comfortable and a good size, bathroom well fitted out. Air conditioning kept us cool in the mad heat we experienced. Breakfast was well staffed in the hotels Bistro. Really good selection with some great cakes. Staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Instructions sent to us before arrival with clear directions of how to get there and where to park the car. Couldn't have asked for a better 3 nights.

Unfortunately the air conditioning wasn't working properly in one of our rooms so it got a bit warm.

The location is fantastic and the views from the restaurant/terrace are stunning. The staff was very nice and the rooms were good. We had 2 rooms and they were both nice but we got the last 2 available so weren't able to stay in one of the cave rooms which probably would have been more unique. We were only here for a night but enjoyed our stay. We had dinner at the restaurant on the property. The view of the Sassi was incredible but the food was so-so. The options are pretty limited and are more like small plates/tapas than actual dinner. I would recommend coming for a drink and enjoying the sunset but would go elsewhere for dinner if I had it to do over again.

Nothing to dislike. Only difficulty people may experience if you need to leave by 8am and carrying a lot of heavy luggage you cannot use the lift before this and need to use the cobbled stairs to get to and from the hotel. Breakfast is lovely but If wanting to eat a hot meal for dinner you may be disappointed as menu was mainly apperitives.

We loved the room. Location was stunning. Staff were very helpful and attentive at all times.

Tried to sit at the terrace bar in the evening but did not have a drink as the outside tables were all pre booked. Second night private function was on again no outside table. There should be enough outside seating for residents who have paid good money to stay at the Hotel .

The Cave Suite was exceptional and the terrace view was superb. Reception young lady was superb and offered lots of information.

How amazing to stay in a cave room. So modern and warm but so unique and old world. Location is fantastic and breakfast on the terrace was icing on the cake.

Located in a fabulous spot, the best views of the Sassi. The staff were wonderful so friendly and helpful especially with restaurants. We love that the non alcoholic drinks in your fridge are included. Breakfast was good plenty of options. It was also a peaceful spot at night.

Transfer to hotel - no help with bags was provided by the transfer service and given the landscape this would have been helpful and appreciated.

The location was perfect, with an amazing panoramic terrace where you could have an aperitivo and enjoy the sunset in Matera. The room was a special experience, with fossils in the walls dating back to million of years ago. The whole stay is an extraordinary experience that once in a lifetime everyone should try.

We stayed in one of the cave rooms called Ui Momm - ask for this room if you can ! It was a beautiful room with a stunning view of the Sassi. It was like a postcard. The hotel has a lift to the first floor terrace restaurant where we had free welcome drinks and the breakfast there had comprehensive selection of lovely fare. The lady at reception was so helpful and did everything possible to make our stay memorable. There is also a shuttle to the parking lot out of town which we used.
