Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe have nothing to complain about.
We loved the old/traditional (but nicely renovated) palazzo with the original tiles on the floor, original furniture, a modern bathroom, etc. The location was super central, close to all attractions, the old city and bars/restaurants. Still, the room was quiet and had a good noise cancellation. The family owned b&b had a charme of its own and the whole family was super nice, friendly and gave us a very welcomed feeling. The breakfast (on a nice outside terrace) was perfect, e.g. we got fresh orange juice every morning, fresh cornetto etc etc. we loved our stay and will definitely come back! Thank you!

The hospitality of the hosts, the Vallebona family. They went above and beyond to welcome us and treated us like family. They helped sort out several problems for us. All but especially Antonio made our stay memorable. Lovely room and very very good breakfast and position of the property so convenient for everything. We hope to come back

AustraliaIt is in the new town. About 20/25 min walk from old town, so found it a bit too far to walk home after dinner, but I am 76. The hosts spoke no English, so getting any info on restaurants etc a bit difficult.
Hosts were wonderful people. Antonio picked me up at bus station, which is quite a distance out of town. So kind. Beautiful old palazzo with lots history. Beautiful antique furniture amazing ceilings. Huge room. Lift. Lovely breakfast on the terrace overlooking the street 3 restaurants in the square below.

BelgiumNothing really! it was during the heatwave that we were there and even then it was amazing. there was airco, fridge, ... everything.
Wauw, the breakfast, freshly made croissant and pecannut pasteries were INCREDIBLE, the best ever! The location was superb, the views you got from these rooms were to die for. I booked this as a surprise for my partner, but it even surprised me. RECOMMEND! You can reach the beach by foot in 3 minutes. Right outside of the door you have a little cocktail bar, the vibe was so awesome! Try to book a sunset cruise when you go to gallipolli too! We did this and it was very cheap and very very excellent. It was the perfect combination with the rest of our stay

AustraliaNothing, it was a wonderful stay and we would stay again!
It was a great stay, the location was great too, and quite close to beaches as well as some restaurants and even some markets which happened whilst we were there. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the host was exceptionally nice.

United KingdomFirst night, the host was hosting a private party on the terrace, which was directly facing my son's bedroom. Music was so loud it was impossible to sleep until the morning...
Warm welcoming host, spacious, clean rooms, facilities sufficient, towels and toiletries plentiful, good breakfast. Good water pressure on shower with good temperature control and spacious bathroom. Love the high ceiling, tiled floor, and double glazing - actually, the whole building was beautiful and well looked after..

GermanyA beautiful historical building located in one of the central squares of Gallipoli, very close to the historic centre. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Everything according to description. It is run by the Vallebona family, who from the first moment were very hospitable and friendly. Antonio in particular is nice and pays a lot of attention to his guests.

SwitzerlandWe were a bit suprised that the place was a B&B, because it doesn't apprear clearly on the page, but it ended being a nice experience.
The location along the main avenue that leads to the old town is really nice. We had a chamber at the corner of the building, with two balconies, one of them with a view on the nice plazza and the sea. The building is very charming and full of history, and the air is fresh, which is valuable in the south of Italy. The owning family is very welcoming and carrying.

TurkeyUnder the hotel, there is a nightclub or bar-style venue that plays loud music. Therefore, it was disturbing to have loud music at night. The beds in the rooms contain extremely noisy mattresses. It was quite difficult to sleep. Hairdryer needs to be changed :(
The size of the rooms are superb. Nicely decorated rooms and the hotel is close to everywhere. They prepared a nice breakfast and the terrace was very nice.

AustraliaThis was by far the best place to stay in the heart of Gallipoli and I cannot recommend it enough, particularly if you want to spend your evenings in the bustling summer nights with restaurants and bars everywhere near you! Anna and the family are such delight. They are so kind, welcoming, and helpful. They were the highlight of our stay. I looked forward to waking up everyday because of the delicious breakfast they prepared! The location is perfect. You are close to everything - all the delicious restaurants are nearby. The old town and beach is just a short 10 minute walk away The piazza next to Vallebona has a restaurant with great food and sometimes entertainment. Our room looked onto the piazza and the restaurant and we couldn’t hear a thing, even during the bustling evenings in the lead up to Ferragosto (particularly busy weekend/week/fortnight for Italians taking summer vacation). Grazie mille Anna e famiglia. x
