Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaThis hotel is amazing. We arrived early, but they welcomed us anyway. They have a garage where they parked our car. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, nicely furnished. It has a beautiful bathroom. The view is wonderful. Breakfast on the terrace is incredibly good. Everything is very tasty. I could sit there for hours. Also the room service is excellent. Everyone was very friendly. The owner Luiggi drove us to Positano and picked us up when we finished, because it is impossible to park there. You can only park on the side of the road and walk several kilometers to the city. I'm sorry we only stayed there for one night. You deserve more than 10 stars. Thank you.

IrelandAbsolutely nothing.
My wife and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for only one night. However, this was the best stay of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, we were met with kindness and warmth .The staff were superb. Luigi was a fantastic host. He drove us in and out of Positano, which made everything so effortless. We had to leave very early on the morning of our departure and he even got up early to make us a lovely breakfast before we had to leave. The room was really well finished, spacious and comfortable and we had a great view of the sea with a lovely seating area on the balcony. It was great value for money. The Almalfi Coast is filled with countless typical hotels, but Hotel Pellegrino is an authentic, family run gem in the middle of it all.

United StatesThere was nothing I did not like! I loved it all!!
My Granddaughter and I had a most wonderful stay at Hotel Pelegrino! It is a very beautiful hotel in Praiano near Positano. Praiano is charming and less busy than Positano; also less hilly! The hotel has a breathtaking view of the Coast but what makes it even more special is the wonderful family who operate it! Luigi, the Dad, is gracious and charming. He drove us to and from Positano and to and from the fabulous local restaurants whenever we needed a ride. It was like having our own private taxi service! Frederico and Alicia (Luigi’s offspring) are extremely knowledgeable about the entire Coast and were able to guide and direct us wherever we wanted to go. They arranged for transportation and made fabulous suggestions of where to go and what to see. The stay came with an absolutely fabulous breakfast, prepared and served by Luigi and Alicia. Wonderful crapes, fresh fruit and juice, pastries, and eggs however you wanted them and always cooked to perfection. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor of the hotel with a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the coast. Dinner is available in season as well in the same charming restaurant. It wasn’t open yet when we were there as we were at the very beginning of the season. It was opening the following week. How fabulous it would be to enjoy a home cooked meal after a full day of touring and sightseeing or a day at the beach! I definitely want to return to this charming paradise.

United StatesWe spent 4 nights at Hotel Pellegrino, and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The hotel is seamlessly run by Luigi and his family, and they all cared for us so well during our stay from offering transportation, dinner reservations, and suggestions of activities in the area. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and modern, with a private balcony with an incredible view of Praiano and the sea. The complimentary breakfast was incredible and satisfied every need, with the ability to customize what you would like each day. To name just a few, they offered fresh fruit, pastries, crepes, eggs cooked to your liking, yogurt, homemade jams, cereal, bread, coffees, etc. We also ate dinner at the hotel and between the view and incredible cuisine (beautifully plated), it was by far our finest dining experience during our 10 day stay in Italy. Daniela, Luigi’s daughter, is the chef. We are already thinking of when we can come back again, to a place that feels like home. Please, if you are debating where to stay during your time in the Amalfi Coast, look no further than Hotel Pellegrino.

CanadaI can't think of something that could have been better, maybe because the family was so wonderful and warm and sharing that I didn't notice anything that might have been less than perfect.
The breakfast was a feast and the fact that you were given options and then surprised with their own fig jam and other homemade pastry delights was perfect.

What a special place! We are so happy that we took a chance on this magical property. The hotel itself is elegant and clean, and it was always a pleasure to return to our room or head to the top level for a drink or bite to eat. The hotel staff are so incredible and made our stay truly unforgettable. They helped us with every request we had and went above and beyond to take care of our needs. It was a joy to stay there, and there is nowhere else we would rather stay on the Amalfi coast.

SingaporeA) location on the main road B) parking in the premises C) walking distance to town D) last but the most important - one of the best ever teams of owner/manager/staff that treat you like you are their family. Nothing was out of bounds. Be it the friendly service for breakfast, the adhoc drops to positano, or simply the warmth they exude in everything. It has been a while since I felt so pampered. Kudos Luigi and family - you guys really spoilt us.

My daughter and three friends stayed at hotel Pellegrino in July and absolutely loved their stay. The staff picked them up at the Naples airport and advised them every step of the way. The girls loved the restaurant, the beach club recommended, beautiful Priano and actually preferred this location over Positano. Do not hesitate to stay here!

Look no further, just book it! Hotel Pellegrino is BEAUTIFUL and the views are breathtaking! Such great value for your money. Family owned and managed with so much care and love by a wonderful family. The breakfast was excellent - it’s simply a dream and you just have to experience it. I also loved the location - away from Positano crowd but close enough to get wherever you need to go and the local private shuttle service is an added bonus. Thank you Luigi and family for an unforgettable experience!

United StatesIf we had one complaint or quibble it was the lightening in the restroom. This is more a pet peeve of my wife's as she prefers warm softer light in particular with a dimmer function so if you prefer surgical lightening you can have it but if you prefer warmer calmer light you can dim the light to your preferred light intensity. This is such a simple fix so did not detract from our experience.
What an amazing experience! My wife and I have been fortunate to have traveled and stayed at some incredible places throughout our beautiful planet and we must say this was heaven on earth and hands down one of the most delightful stays we have ever had. Luigi and his family are all amazing. Luigi graciously drives you around (within reason/close radius) and he drove us and picked us up from Positano which we weren't too impressed with as it was a zoo and overrun with tourists. Hotel Pellegrino was the perfect oasis to escape all the craziness of Amalfi coast. This family truly understands service and makes you feel like welcome guest/family. Everyone from Alessie, Daniele, Genaro, Guiseppe to Luigi are amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt like valued guests. We were greeted warmly by the patriarch of the family, Luigi and his daughter, Alessia who oversees reception. Alessia was ubiquitous and responsive on WhatsApp, a pleasure with whom to talk. As we arrived later than we had anticipated we had asked if they could move our dinner reservations and they did. Then we quickly changed and were graciously driven by Luigi to our wonderful nearby restaurant. Our room was amazing (room 21)! It had terrace and million dollar view of Amalfi Coast. The furnishings were simple yet refined. Ambiance: They have done a wonderful job with the plants and appearance/decor of the hotel that this place feels like a high end hotel. They really shine in terms of service. An amazing place to stay and highly recommend!

United StatesOnly because we stayed for 6 nights, the breakfast felt a bit repetitive towards the end. But this is a pretty unusual situation since most do not stay as long as we have.
Fantastic, sparkling clean, enormous rooms with a terrace facing the Coast. We happened to travel during a heat wave and the air conditioners worked at level we are used to in the US (absolutely not trivial in this area of Italy). The insulation is great and we had the piece and quite we were looking for. Above and beyond service. Think Four Seasons and then some. Assistance with EVERYTHING we asked for, even when some requests were extremely unusual (my mom wanted mani padi in the room). They researched, recommended, booked and drove us! Really unparalleled service. It is a family business and you can tell they really really care about it and go out of their way to make the stay unforgettable. Dinner and breakfast were great as well.

United StatesWe stayed at Hotel Pellegrino in late May 2023, our first time to Amalfi Coast. We found the other reviews we read on Booking to be very accurate. Hotel Pellegrino is exceptional – very clean, nice room, and with great, personalized service from the owner. The staff is friendly, speaks English (which is not always the case in Italy), and they can help you with planning and logistics for some of your activities in the area. The breakfast was the best we had in our time in Italy and Switzerland. Don’t worry about not having a view of Positano from your room, you’ll get to see it plenty of times if you are in the area and the view from the jasmine and wisteria covered balconies is beautiful and unique. Definitely walk around the nearby town of Praiano if you are visiting, the views are really nice. After experiencing, we recommend take the hotel’s advice and spend more to get a private transfer from the airport or other areas when bringing luggage, it will just be more pleasant. We got to the hotel using the bus from Sorrento which was an interesting experience and cheap. But, the bus can be very crowded, you might have to stand, it swerves a lot on the curvy roads and people definitely get car sick, and the bus doesn’t have much space for luggage for all passengers. Given the crowded bus, getting off with luggage can also be stressful, they usually make a quick stop on a fairly narrow road with mopeds speeding around. Taking the ferry between towns is also highly recommended, it’s more scenic and less crowded, and we didn’t find bringing luggage on and off to be a problem. When we visited, the hotel will shuttle you to the main road at the top of Positano, which is about a 10 minute drive (they will also take you to the town of Praiano), which was helpful. Overall Hotel Pellegrino was our favorite hotel experience on our trip, and we would definitely stay there again!
