Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThe ensuite in the loft room often smelt like raw sewage, there wasn’t enough toilet paper left for 6 guests, you have to remove your own rubbish from the property and there is no common rubbish disposal on the premises, pretty disappointing when you pay quite a bit of money for a “serviced apartment” when the basics aren’t even supplied or taken care of. The iron also leaks water during use. The pressure in the showers is deplorable. Barely a dribble of water from the shower heads and it is also warm, not hot. There was no washing liquid or pods left for use and there was also the bare amount of dishwashing liquid left for use.
The property was very central and could easily house 6 guests. The washing machine is a good item to have for the property.

United StatesThe apartment was located on the third floor with no elevator so taking up luggage of 50 pounds plus was very cumbersome (I'm 67). I'm not sure if I was told of the hike, but we did need three bedrooms so I'm not sure if there was another available. One of the showers has a curtain that does not keep water from leaking onto the floor. The main bedroom electrical socket burned my Apple charger so I had to use one in the living room.
There was no breakfast included. The property was centralized in the city which was a plus.

United StatesThe only think that could be an issue is the 69 stairs to the apartment and no elevator. Luckily my 20 year old son could haul up our suitcases. It did help up add flights to our Iwatch flights/steps per day
There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The kids loved that they each had their own loft and bathroom. The apartment was on a street with great restaurants, bakeries and the Ponte Vecchio bridge and Pitta Palace were about 1 block away. We walked almost everywhere including the train station about 15-20 minute walk.

The location was perfect!! Right in the center of activities. Walk out the door and you can stumble into cafes, shopping, or even a wine window! Windows where great at soundproofing the hustle and bustle of Florence.

United StatesHonestly the lack of an elevator was the main down side. 69 steps! But we knew that and still booked it because of the location and size.
We loved that there were 4 different sleeping areas. So nice to have our own space at the end of the day. Also great that there are 2 bathrooms. While we didn’t cook, it was helpful to have the small kitchen and fridge for drinks and breakfast foods. The location is excellent!
