Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaLocation, while convenient, it's in a dodgy area. I wouldn't walk there alone at night. However, we felt perfectly safe inside of the hotel.
Good value. Lovely but simple breakfast. Very helpful staff. Bed was comfortable, big enough bathroom. It's very conveniently located close to the train station and airport buses.

BrazilThe neighbourhood of the hotel is really bad, with very strange people waiting in the street at any time between the hotel and the train station. We had to do a detour to avoid them to reach the hotel from the train station.
Location. The hotel is located 2 min from the railway station to Venice, hence it is extremely easy to go back and forth to Venice. Breakfast is simple but very tasty, with fresh fruit every morning and a croissant.

United KingdomAircon in the room, but it couldn't cope with the heat sadly.
Very convenient location for station and bus to airport. Clean . Basic but adequate breakfast. Perhaps any other month of the year but August and the heat wouldn't have won the battle with the air con.

United KingdomThe booking offered what we were expecting and what we wanted.
Great location for visiting Venice. Very near the station and great for getting to the airport. Truly convenient which is what we wanted. And a great night manager who was so helpful and friendly. Oh the hotel were happy for us to leave bags there while we visted Venice. Thank-you.

United Kingdomon the left side of the road as you walked to the hotel, there is a homeless possibly drug dealing area that was covered in urine and rubbish. No one bothered us the two times we walked through but I was self conscious and it was dirty. I didn’t feel unsafe in the hotel at all. The right side of the road was absolutely fine. The pillows were extremely firm and there was only one each with one spare. We didnt ask for another as we were so tired and got back late.
Really close to the train and bus station. staff were helpful and even offered breakfast at 7 if we left early, and allowed early checkin. The room was just what we needed for the night when we were spending the day in Venice and leaving the next day by bus.

AustriaPerfectly servicable hotel in close proximity to the main train station, which is probably the reason most people stay in Mestre (to get to Venice). Clean and quiet, friendly staff, exactly what I want from a room I usually will only see the inside of when I come back in the evening. There are also several restaurants/bars in the area, although I didn't test those.

RussiaThe rooms are smelly. The hair dryer is more like an imitation of a real one. The safe box did not work properly as well. Overall the neighborhood does not feel super safe, especially if you go for a train. The fact that the hotel closes the doors at night for security is rather indicative. Bus stop was okayish. Basically it is just a room to sleep if nothing else is available or affordable. You would not want to spend any extra minute in it. The staff was not super nice either denying the opportunity for an early check in without even asking my name or looking into availability. I had to actually wake up the receptionist to do a check out early in the morning.
It was one of the cheapest options available. Located close to the train station and the bus to Venice itself stops super close. The aircon was enough for the weather.
