A wonderful place with well appointed rooms, a beautiful garden and a breathtaking view. The two sisters who run the place are amazing hostesses. We had a most enchanting stay at Relais Farinati and will make this place a regular.

The view from the room is amazing! Food in the restaurant!!! - real home cuisine, simple but very tasty, authentic local food. The staff is absolutely helpful - they gave us a lot of tips for our further travel in Toscana, Florence, Rome. Absolutely everything in this place is perfect!

This hotel is absolutely exceptional! From the moment you drive in you know you are in for a treat, and the treat it was! The interior, the breathtaking views, all the little touches, we had dinner with a good wine at the restaurant, we chatted with two brilliant sisters-owners and enjoyed the company of their dogs. After some days in Lucca city we were excited to go up in the hills to Relais Farinati. Two sisters run the place with their 3 dogs and cat. It’s a 25 min drive from Lucca on a narrow road the last bit but it’s so worth it! Amazing view that never ceases to impress. After some coffee with cookies for breakfast in the city we were so glad to see a real breakfast with eggs, bread (even glutenfree), yoghurt, fruits and so on. The dinner was really nice with new menu every day, and they always found options for miss glutenfree. They make everything themselves and have local wine. Nice rooms with a view, fridge, AC etc. the pool was great, the house is stunning, nice walks uphill/downhill, and you can visit vineyards just down the road. We loved it here and will return for sure. Thanks to the sisters, the lovely dogs and cat <3

Mosquitoes. The staff do their level best in an attempt to help keep these pesky insects at bay ... but in the warmer months they will definitely make their presence known. The final 3km uphill drive to the villa appears in many critiques as an issue ... yeah, it's narrow and winding but if you are a reasonably competent driver; it's not the show-stopper many would have you believe.

We relished our 4 day stay. We've stayed in many hotels, pensions, and bed & breakfasts; and house Farinati is way-y-y up top with the very few best of them all. Understated elegance, classic Tuscan ambiance, a comfortable room, delightful terrace for delicious meals and refreshments with a panoramic view and a superior staff made our stay fly by way too quickly. This secret gem met and exceeded our holiday hotel expectations in every way.

We liked the view. It is absolutely stunning! The staff is very friendly and welcoming! Excellent breakfast and perfect wine selection. The road to get there was very nice.

The road up is really narrow with several sharp curves.

Free breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed every evening meal there. Beautiful setting that is well maintained. Everyone there was really polite and accommodating. It was convenient to take day trips to Pisa and Lucca

I would have liked to have the option to have ordinary tea with milk in our room.

The setting is marvellous, and the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. We loved having breakfast and supper on the patio enjoying the view of the olive groves and the Tuscan hills. The food was excellent. Solange and Sibilla are delightful and made us feel very welcome.

The reason we chose this accommodation was the many reviews saying it was a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing place to stay. Sadly due to the inconsiderate noisy behaviour of a few other guests, this was spoiled for us and for others. I'm not sure what the owners can do about this when it happens, but maybe a low voice reminder note in the rooms or in the common areas. One night it started about 7pm and got louder and louder until about 11pm. Then began again at breakfast the next day! It might be a good Idea if the owners included in their pre visit information messages the need for guests to bring insect repellent. The outside dining area was regularly sprayed so they are aware of the problem with biting insects. We sat outside in the gardens in the evening before dinner and we were both very badly bitten.

Beautiful property, decorated with charm and style. Stunning main lounge / reception. Comfortable bed, great bathroom and shower. Friendly hosts and staff. The layout of tables for dining, both at breakfast and dinner was perfect and made full use of the lovely views. Close to the charming old town of Lucca.

There is truly nothing to say.

Relais Farinati is the place where the hospitality gets back its originally meaning. You would enjoy many things when staying there, feeling good that someone is truly caring about you, marvellous view, delicious meals served in the evening on the terrace overlooking the valley, owners attention to every little details in refurbishments, decoration. In one word, harmony at its best. Remember this when you will stay by the window in the spacious reception room / library in the front of the writing table thinking that this is the place where you can attempt to write another masterpiece of European literature.
