The shower took so long for water to heat. There was a musty smell in room. The rooms just need a little updating.

It was clean and our room was very big - e had a little apartment outside the main hotel but just around the corner. Very comfortable as we are a family of 4

No tea & coffee in room, and no food available when we checked in at 2130. Why not at least a vending machine with sandwiches for hungry & tired travellers?

There is no way I can think of improving our stay.

Hotels near railways stations have a poor repiutation. That is definitely not the case with Hotel Rocca e Roma - it's outstanding. We arrived with our eBikes at about 10:45 pm from the Genoa train. The hotel is literally just acros the road from the station. Everywhere seemed very busy but it also seemed very safe with lots of couples and no drunkenness (although it was a Sunday). Our bikes were safely locked in the left-luggage room and there was a lift up to our huge room. We slept well in the bed and came down to a very good breakfast (sausages, eggs, cold meats, cheese, vegetables, breads, jams, fruit...).

The location was good, next to train station and metro station. walking distance from city center, basically on the main street that goes to the center. and the pedestrian area. Good restaurants and caffes nearby. the hotel is friendly and cosy, the room very clean. The bed and pillow comfortable. Each floor has water supply for the guests, which I did not see before. The breakfast was good, a lot of staff to choose, sweet cakes, cookies, tartes, salty food also (cheese, ham, eggs, vegetables), milk and cereals, fruits, different sorts of bread, caffee. The staff is very nice and friendly. They have a nice terrace, but we went on march and was a little rainy and did not have the chance to use it. The area is safe and even when we returned late we felt safe.

Excellent location in the old city centre opposite the station, beautiful building, very nice rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. You can also arrange parking in the garage opposite the hotel for an additional fee.
