Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceRare noise from loud vehicles outside for one of the rooms facing the street, but it is not a big problem.
Our train was late, but Marco waited for us at the metro exit, helped with our luggage and showed us the apartment! The apartment has everything you need, well situated, walking distance from Vatican and next to the metro station. It has enough space for 4 people. Marco was really helpful and organised.

FinlandGood location with a walking distance from the Vatican and near a metro station. The apartment layout suits well the needs of those who need two separate rooms for sleeping and want to cook also at home instead of eating out for every meal. If you come from a country where shoes are taken of when inside consider bringing a pair of woolly socks or inside slippers with you; the floors are stone material. Marco was a kind and gracious host ready to advice us when we needed information. We were happy with our stay:)

IndiaNothing, it’s a great property with a fantastic host
The host Marco is extremely friendly and helpful. He met us personally, took us inside the apartment and explained in great detail about the facility. He was extra nice and arranged for a few bowls from his own home which was very touching and thoughtful

GreeceVery clean and large house and in a very good location next to a underground station (Cipro station) and close to the Vatican city. Very close there is a perfect bakery for breakfast named Voglia Di Pane, as well as many supermarkets, of which Carrefour is open 24/7. Marco very friendly and helpful in helping us with everything we asked him as well as giving us information about the city.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom and bedroom doors were noisy and seemed to pull on the floor. It might be helpful to lubricate the door handle and adjust the doors for smoother operation. The size of the heating boiler was not enough for the family, and there was only enough for one person to shower.
Our host, Marco, was exceptional in his assistance and provided us with a comprehensive list of Rome's top restaurants. The house's location was fantastic, as it was close to numerous restaurants and public transportation options, such as the metro and bus, and even a 24/7 supermarket.

United StatesNo complaints. If you are there to see Rome, it's a great apartment for a family or multiple travelers.
Really interesting, informative, and helpful owner. Marco is a genuinely nice host. The facility lacked nothing. Of course, Rome is a huge city, but with the Metro a block away access to so many sites was easy. And the Vatican is so close. Lots to see and do right by this apartment.

The Host was awesome. He met us at the home and made sure everything was ok. There was some construction two days of our stay but Marco was very pleasant and made sure we were comfortable and even reduced our city tax due to the inconvenience. When the wifi went out the next day, he gave us a data stick to make up for the lost amenity. The location was also very close to the Vatican and everything else we wanted to see.

United StatesWater pressure in the kitchen faucet somewhat low.
The apartment is in a great location, a short walk from the metro station. The train takes you to Roma Termini in 15 min. If you want to visit the Vatican museums, they are just one train stop away. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops in the vicinity. Marco is an awesome host, met us with the keys, showed us around the apartment, and gave recommendations regarding restaurants and activities nearby. A very nice and kind person. The apartment in on a high first floor (in the US it would be the 2nd floor), and the building has an elevator, so no trouble getting the luggage there. The apartment has a large fully functional bathroom with a shower and a good size kitchen, equipped with everything we needed. Off the kitchen is a balcony facing the buildings across the courtyard. The beds are very comfortable and the bedroom is huge. We used the living room with the pull-out couch as a bedroom. This room was very quiet. The main bedroom faces a busy street, but the double windows and shutters blocked the noise completely. The air conditioning worked very well. Overall, we thought that this big, comfortable apartment in a convenient location was a great deal, and we would be happy to stay there again.

PolandTo fix what is damaged or used off. The landlord could take more care off repairing some defects, like to lubricate the door hinges so that they do not squeak. Fix the shower head, as it is peeing sideways. To paint the balcony dorr so that they do not have lichen.
