The staff was just extremely friendly and welcoming! I didn't have such a good experience in a long time!! The location is soo nice in the middle of Trastevere. It's an absolute perfect sanctuary in the middle of a very lively neighbourhood. Rooms rather simple; but comfortable! The courtyard is from like a movie scene, super pretty and romantic. The breakfast is nice, and the happy hour snacks are lovely.

Beautiful setting - a tiny oasis in the middle of bustling Trastevere where you can relax in a cute, well-appointed room or lovely gardens or the rooftop terraza after a busy day in the city. The staff were very friendly, helpful, kind, and went out of their way to provide exceptional service tailored to each guest. A unique place to stay - not like your typical hotel or AirBnB experience.

One instance of the maid service being loud at 7am but it feels mean to be upset at people having a good convo.

Great room, the staff were excellent and friendly. The location in Trastevere is good and the staff serving coffee at breakfast personalised the coffees with coffee art. That was a nice touch and made us feel very welcome.

The location is fantastic in the middle of Travestere, an quiet oasis with an orange internal "patio". Very near very good restaurants and bars and night life. Walking distance to Vatican city, Roman archelogical sites and other tourist attractions.

My partner and our 6 year old spent 3 nights in Hotel Santa Maria and it was absolutely perfect for our stay in Rome. We went to the Vatican on Friday and the Colosseum on Saturday. Location-wise, the hotel is almost in the middle of those two places, around a 30 minute walk, obviously quicker without a child. It is also surrounded by a great choice of restaurants. There is a secure gateway into the hotel which was fantastic as almost every other hotel opens onto the street. Once inside you'll find a beautiful courtyard that is actually an orange and lemon orchard. There's even a lounge where my daughter and I played chess and I even had a nap on one of the extremely comfy chairs! The room was clean, the shower/bath did its job perfectly and the beds were very comfortable. Finally, the staff were all a pleasure to deal with. You could feel that they're passionate about and have great pride in their hotel and they absolutely should be. They always greeted us with a smile and were so friendly and welcoming. A special mention to Marvin and Kevin in the breakfast room. They put on a wonderful breakfast, are so professional and are amazing at their job. From the little details in the lattes to making my daughter smile. She also couldn't get enough of the hot chocolate and finished every breakfast with marshmallows from the guys. I honestly can't recommend Hotel Santa Maria enough. After staying for 3 nights I would just tell you to forget staying anywhere else, stay in Hotel Santa Maria. It has 3 stars but it gives you 5 star service, is in a great location with comfortable rooms and the best staff. Book your stay here, you won't regret it.

Nothing really. The ceilings could be low (top floor with vaulted ceiling) where we were (kept hitting my head), but I imagine most rooms don't have that problem.

The staff was incredible, very friendly, and helpful. The location was nice. The breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend, would stay again.

The whole hotel area is amazing! It’s like a home in charming Trastevere, quiet, beautiful and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is cosy, clean and nice with all you need for your comfort. Excellent breakfast. Within walking distance of all major sites in Rome. Simply the best!

Our stay was excellent! We had a special place to store the luggage, the room had a minibar, they gave us slippers, towels were great, they were accommodating and went out of their us to make us feel welcome. We were allowed to check in earlier, have breakfast. The barista and servers at the breakfast room were nice, fun, and skilled!

I did not want to leave. The property and staff were amazing. Each time we had a question the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Super friendly too. Breakfast was delicious and the perfect items to start the day in a very cute location on property. Loved this place. The property is secluded but also walking distance to lively cafes and shopping.

Bad Wi-Fi in rooms and common areas. Although hotel is in a quiet location, walls are thin and you can hear everything next door and from rooms above.
