Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI believe I took the least expensive room available at the time. While it was spacious and had a huge very nice bathroom, it lacked personality (a bit more colors, pictures …would not hurt) and the windows overlooked an inside court where the local restaurant and neighbors keep the trash cans a few floors below. It was also loud (old building) because of the local restaurant business . Given the lack of view, something ought to be done to compensate and bring this room closer to the image presented . The staff did their best to help with the noise situation but without ear plugs some nights would have been difficult.
If one likes authentic (in this case : with character, unique, representative of the city), this certainly is a great choice for the price - The location can’t be better / and Simona, the keeper, was very sweet, helpful, tried her best to make everyone’s stay the most comfortable. -

United KingdomDon't bother with the breakfast here, you're offered a very basic continental style provision in your room. Best to go out to the lovely cafes in the square. Our favourite was the Rivoire opposite. NO AIR CONDITIONING - AC system installed in the room but locked off by the proprietor. Room quite warm, forcing us to open the windows at night and be eaten alive by MOSQUITOES. "INNER COURTYARD VIEW" - sounds lovely, listed on the web page but view didn't exist in our room. NOISE - not from street but from noisy restaurant staff putting out waste in the viewless back "courtyard" below.
LOCATION, location, location! Need I say more? Nice open dining room area allowing guests to use shared kitchen facilities during their stay.

United StatesThe court area outside our windows. Noisy from restaurants taking care of their garbage. Not a deal breaker at all!
We liked the big , spacious room. Location was excellent for what we were doing in Florence. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and meeting points for our excursions.

GreeceExpected a better breakfast for the price. They had already laid some baked goods in the room for all the days. Not a huge problem for us but im putting it out there. The only other negative was the noise from restaurants and people outside but it's something you should expect when you choose a central hotel in high season.
We really liked the room ! It's very big and comfortable.Bathroom also nice and spacious. The location is perfect right in the piazza Della signoria and close to everything. Couldn't be better! Reception was only in the morning, she was nice and helpful.

United StatesThe room was spacious and comfortable accept we wish we could have had control of the AC since it was locked at a higher temperature than we would have preferred. Also the shower is a bit small, but overall these are small complaints and our stay was really good.
The location of this place is absolutely incredible, right outside the door is the square with the Medici palace and there are great restaurants accessible morning and night.

FranceBed had 2 noticeable indents Breakfast was all in plastic wrapped and minimal. Air conditioning was locked at 27.7. And then didn’t turn on 1 night at all. Probably because the temperature dropped but we didn’t receive a notification to open our windows.

Philippines- Self check-in as the reception is not available 24h is reasonable, but information in advance would have been nice. I had to reach out to the hotel to ask them to share the instructions for self check-in. Thankfully I read the fine print before boarding my train from Rome to Florence... - The bed was not the most comfortable and I probably had the thinnest pillows ever here. - "Breakfast" is left in the room and consists of packed (mass-produced?) bread and pastries. - Walls are pretty thin and I could hear everything so early in the morning.
I was able book this for a good deal considering the location and the size of the room. The hotel is located within Piazza della Signoria, and is close to everything, including the Uffizi Gallery. The hotel itself is a historic location and they describe it so well in a leaflet inside your room. Other things I liked: - Room was pretty big and spacious. The bathroom I would say is excessively spacious! - The staff (2 ladies manning the hotel) were warm and friendly.

United KingdomBreakfast was not great, premade dry goods mostly that were not refreshed or replaced over our few days, including tea being used on day one and not replaced the following day.
The location is absolutely splendid and could not be more central. Access, even outside normal hours, was simple and straightforward. The place is a bit delightfully quirky and the staff were lovely.

United StatesThe bed was not comfortable but nothing out of the ordinary for hotel beds. The AC for my room (#5) did not work. Other than that, everything was awesome.
Super nice time, the location is right in the middle of the center so you can walk anywhere nice as soon as you step out the door. The bathroom was very nice and exceeded my expectations. The ladies working the desk were really nice to me and helped me book a taxi to the airport! The breakfast was nice to have and it was restocked every day by the staff.

United States30 steps up to get to the elevator but that’s ok. We did fine but maybe not for someone with mobility issues. We weren’t allowed to use the air conditioner, even though it was advertised they had it. We had to keep our windows open and the mosquitoes fly in and bite us. They did put in 2 mosquitoes repellant plug in devices which helped. And they let us use the fan to ventilate the room. The breakfast consisted of prepackaged pastries and breads/snacks. It would’ve been nice if there were more fresh items or some meats, cheese, boiled eggs.
The location was excellent, right in the middle of Palazzo Vecchio and around the corner of the Uffizi Museum. The room was a good size and our bathroom was huge! The staff were very nice but the reception desk is only staffed from 8 am to 1 pm, but we could always call the manager if needed. Coffee, tea, milk, juice, chocolate milk yogurt, kiwi fruit were provided.
