There was a hiccup with our room allocation - we were assigned the standard (room 105) not a superior room. The standard room is quite dark and not particularly large and unfortunately the A/C was noisy and then broke down. However, on departure the difference in room was reflected on the invoice and this was appreciated. There is a lot of bird excrement and perhaps this could be better managed (spikes or regular cleaning).

The hotel was located in a lovely setting - much history and the pool and surrounds very nice. Massimo was outstanding - providing a great service at the pool, at dinner and the following morning at breakfast. We thought the restaurant was very good and a great breakfast too. We appreciated that the property was dog friendly.

The air conditioning appears to be controlled centrally and ours kept going off so the room was uncomfortably warm. A small thing but it would also have been nice if we could have eaten outside at the restaurant.

A little oasis of calm with the hotel set around a courtyard with the pool in the centre. We stayed at this hotel as stopover between Cannes and home in Switzerland and enjoyed a lovely afternoon with our two kids around the pool. Bar service at pool was great with some good snacks as we were hungry when we arrived. The food in the restaurant where we ate in the evening was exceptional.

There is not that much to do in the direct area.

We loved the interior of the castello and the lovely pool area. Also the breakfast and dinner were both very good. Would like to stay here again for sure!

Keep in mind that it is a hotel in rural surroundings, the village is really small but there are very interesting places 10 min drive.

Excellent value for money, with great regional Italian food. The swimming pool is a bonus. Comfortable bed, spacious room with air conditioning. Nice view of the mountains.

Hard not to like, it's fantastic. Maybe something on the wall to hold the shower head...but that's me trying to be overly critical.

Perfect overnight or weekend spot. Just a few minutes from the A4 but far enough to feel away from the highway. Adorable ❤️ old castle transformed into a hotel. Authentic Italian decor, such simple antique furniture yet so tasteful. Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent restaurant and beautiful premises. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately our room was not up to the rating of this establishment. The ceiling was bad with moisture and the heating of the bathroom was not operational resulting in smell and moisture. Other rooms we saw were nice but unfortunately not ours

Very "oasis" like stay, extremely calm and quiet. Very friendly staff and exceptional restaurant! You can also venture out for 5 minutes in the car to get the € 6 Pizza in one of the local restaurants. I will surely recommend this place to my friends

First of all, "resort" should not be part of the hotel's name. Sillavengo is a tiny and economically challenged village in an almost exclusively rural part of Italy. I imagine it is rocking back and forth trying to get back on solid footing after the horrible COVID lockdown period. The staff was generally polite but glum. The pool cleaning machine stayed at the bottom of the pool, as well as its accompanying electricity cable trailing out, during our entire three-day stay. The restaurant was a disappointment (my pasta dish was astonishingly undercooked and inedible) and our dining bill that evening was something near 180Euros. Creepily enough, we were the only patrons in there. We may have just been there at a bad time — It is an interesting hotel, with loads of historical charm and the potential to be a magical place for a one or two-night stay, but that was not our experience. In the end, we stayed away from the hotel mostly and took day trips to Como and to an interesting Catholic monastery/sanctuary in Oropa.

The breakfast was a good effort and the coffee was excellent. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. They served excellent wines and our one waiter who helped around the pool area tables was charming and helpful. If the pool is important to you, make sure it is "available". Also, as it seems to be mainly a wedding venue for their local population, it might be a good idea to inquire about your dates coinciding with that, as the dining arrangements might not be available.
