How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We chose Hotel Villa Belvedere for a short stay for my fiancés birthday, and words can not describe the excellent service we received from the staff. every staff member made us feel so welcome. The hotel was superb and the facilities were fantastic. We Chose to stay in the suite which was a short walk from the main hotel and the view over the Giardini Besch and the bay was amazing we had a first class view of Mt Etna which was amazing. We done the boat trip which was organised by the Hotel from Giardini Naxos Beach and thoroughly enjoyed the trip I would recommend for any one to do. The food was well presented and very tasty as was the service for breakfast and lunch. Taormina is such a beautiful place to visit and the Hotel Villa Belvedere made the whole experience so wonderful, I still get "Goosebumps" when I think of the wonderful memories created during our stay. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful..

We loved everything! The only suggestion would be to make sure the gym is fully functioning, add some more equipment, as well as making sure the AC is working well during the summer.
We love the hotel! Wonderful staff! Truly this hotel has the best staff. Thank you to - the owner, managers, receptionist, housekeepers, breakfast team, concierges- to the whole crew for making our stay to such a pleasure, and memorable experience!!! The breakfast is amazing!!

The hotel is located in a one way and very narrow street. We should have been warned that we should call the hotel, 5 mins before arrival, so that they can take the car in the car park. As we had a car behind us, we stopped 100 meters ahead, but could not reverse and had to go around a long route for another 25 minutes in order to arrive again in front of the hotel. The pool facilities and the snacks (at the pool bar) can be improved.
The view and the location is great.

The bed was too firm for me.
The staff was absolutely fantastic, breakfast was great with a huge assortment, and the location was a moderate walk to attractions. The sea view room had a great view.

Cannot think of anything realistic-car park looked cramped but we had no car! So no problem.
Small hotel and big welcome, staff were brilliant and were genuinely pleased to look after everyone equally.

The breakfast was disappointing . No fruit really and toaster was broken and they do not replenish when platters empty

It was difficult to find by car. Our building was across the street from the main hotel.

Rooms without the sea view/balcony are not worth the price. There is some competition to secure chairs by the pool, and some are “reserved” with a towel for hours without anyone actually using them which can be annoying.
Great and convenient location, just a short walk from the old town. Rooms with balcony have amazing sea view. Pool is a great addition and decent size. Lunch by the pool was tasty, but pricey. Service was exceptionally helpful and attentive.
