Reception staff could have been a little more helpful and less aloof. The hotel is a little jaded and felt it needed an upgrade.

The hotel has an excellent location with a wonderful view of the sea from our room, which also had a balcony. It has its own car park. We made use of the hotel terrace as well as the hotel pool. Hotel was less than 5 minutes to the town centre. The breakfast was very tasty and varied. The staff at our check-in was very friendly and helpful

We booked with a half board option. Breakfast was good. Had a lot of choice. Evening meals wasn't that good, though. Would only recommend b and b. Loads of restaurants in town.

Breakfast was very mediocre. The coffee was awful ( from an instant machine), eggs were fake. Very poor signage around the hotel- couldn’t find our way to the pool. Very loud- there was a conference going on and the noise from the reception they were having was very annoying. Staff not overly friendly.

The views from the suite were amazing. The furniture in the suite was tired with many marks and scratches. Very regretably the jucuzzi was not usuable and took 3 days before it could be used. As compensation we were provided with dinner and drinks on one occaision. The suite should have been inspected prior to our visit to ensure all facilities were functioning. Our main dislike was the condition of the carpets along the corridors, in front of the lifts, and on the stairs. The majority of the carpets were badly stained and consequently gave the appearance of being dirty. The stair carpets were thread bare at the treads. The condition of the carpets were in no way what one would expect of a Hotel with a four star rating and as such detracted from the ambiance of the hotel.

There was plenty of choice at breakfast although the scrambled egg and bacon should have been hot. The food served at dinner was very good. Staff were very attentive at both meals. The ladies who cleaned the room were very helpful and did a through job. Staff at reception were helpful and provided electrical adapters so that we could charge our devices and a kettle so that we could enjoy early morning tea and coffee in our room.

The food at the evening meal was luke warm unfortuneatly - it felt like it had been sitting around for 15 mins already prepared.

The view was fabulous. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Staff were very good. The room was large with a great outlook and terrace.

Breakfast is sufficient. However, the coffee machine delivers instant coffee, a real scandal in Italy. Really, it's not good. And parking is free, but LIMITED and was often an unpleasant discussion. And beware, those bottles of water in your room are not free and this is not told to you at checkin. Neither of these issues are properly explained via the website in English or Italian.

Old style hotel with great views over the sea and to Mt Etna, including from the breakfast/dining room. Close to the old town for easy access but just outside so it's quiet (okay, some wave sounds). Great terrace for afternoon coffee or apero. If you're looking for a modern hotel, this isn't your hotel. But if you're looking for old world charm, it fits the bill.

The size or lack of the room

Our room had an amazing view - our booking was for a superior room and this room was just standard at best, not very spacious compared to the other superior room our friends had. Other than that, the location is perfect, the staff gracious, friendly and helpful and great breakfast every morning. Have already referred friends to this hotel!

It seemed it needed maintenance. The wood was chipped in some places and the hallway carpets were dirty, it smelled old. Our room was under a hall, there was a big party happening and we could hear the footsteps and music so we didn’t sleep very well. The shower didn’t have a curtain or glass so we left a bit mess on the bathroom. We had to leave our car keys because they didn’t have enough space to park it.

The location was really god and the feeling of and antique vibe. We had breakfast looking at mount Etna and it was lovely.

I would have rated this hotel 10points if there wasn't the issue with the car park. We specifically booked this hotel for it's free own parking. We parked our car on the hotel premises. At check-in the reception demanded the car keys because they move the car to somewhere else and an additional 20eu . So we literally had to empty our belongings from the car even though we stayed for one night. On the website it says parking is free and no reservations. I contested this with the reception manager and he told us that for this time round he'll close an eye. So I'm not sure if I'll book this hotel on my next visit.

The breakfast was just horrible , not only tasteless but not something you would guess having in a 4 star hotel in west europ, really a bad joke. In a fridge in the room you will find 2 water bottles but no price list or any indication thats its not complementary .. until check out ...

The team (mostly) are nice and helpful, the room was renovated and seem to be taken care of (though the hotel have had its glamorous days) Location is good and also the option to park there. View from breakfast hall are beautiful

The most terrible machine-coffee we have had in Italy ,although when complaining we were offered real coffe from a nice woman in the breakfast-room.
