Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceFirst of all, excellent location. A few steps away from the Main Street and main attractions of Taormina. Second of all, the room was amazing, with an amazing view, clean, even the small detail of the light up bathroom window was on point to the whole style of a well kept villa in a modern customized way, respecting all its glory and beauty of the past days. A beautiful garden and a beautiful terrazza for breakfast. The breakfast even though it was charged extra, everything was fresh and there were many options. Also, with extra charge was the private parking, but we arrived with the car directly to the hotel, and we were feeling safe as to where we were leaving our car. The stuff was also very helpful, with everything about the hotel but also with restaurant recommendations and general information about Taormina. Last but definitely not least, our favourite member of the stuff was Marco. Always with the smile, he was the one to welcome us and to say goodbye to us, to help us carry our luggage in and out of the hotel, and he is also a barman, a waiter and always around to help. He reminded it is of the lobby boy from the movie “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and we mean it in the most respectful way possible, the one that anticipated the client’s needs. Thank you for the experience.

United StatesThere is nothing we didn’t like about the hotel. Old Taormina is gone however. The local pub (now gone) which we visited twenty years ago that was owned by a family that remembered how much American soldiers saved the island in World War II and loved Americans, managed to speak enough English to be able to prepare a great Manhatten and play Frank Sinatra songs. Because I’m an American that speaks Italian, we stopped at the old market and visited with the children of the parents who owned a beautiful laced tablecloth store that twenty years ago treated us to a wonderful pranzo before we purchased a hand crafted lace tablecloth. Those days are gone forever.
The staff is extraordinary. The location is central to the heart of what I would call “Main Street”. Hadn’t been to Taormina in twenty years and didn’t’ realize that Taormina has turned into an overcrowded shopping mall. In spite of the criticism, the hotel is a five star destination. Claudia, the reception manager, who acts as the concierge as well, is the most attentive person in the hotel industry. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and the room was breathtaking. If you purchase the breakfast package it is fabalous. If we were staying more than two nights, we could have experienced really great excursions to the beach down below as well as tours of Mt. Etna.

The location is good & they have a private parking which needs to pay the hotel but it's worth it for this location. However in the busy time I'm not sure how the hotel handle it with their limited parking space.

Beautiful historic building in a perfect location. Just one minute away from the centre of Corso Umberto, yet having the peace and views of the sea and Mount Etna. The delightful garden at the back of the property gives a tranquil and green space with shady spots between the hotel and entering the city. The sea-facing rooms and the breakfast terrace have some of the best views in the world!

United StatesGetting there can be tricky, so it is best to call ahead if you are driving so the staff can help park the vehicle. But they do all the hard work by grabbing your bags, taking them up the stairs, and parking your car for you.
This place exceeded my expectations, mostly due to the wonderful staff there. The location was excellent! The breakfast was great! And I had the most beautiful view from my room. When I got lost getting to the hotel, the front desk clerk stayed on the phone with me and guided me the whole way. The staff was really the best part of the hotel. I plan on going back soon!
