Very unwelcoming enterance, hotel is on the 4th floor above a different hotel, dont walk up the stairs there were so many but If I had seen reviews beforehand of the lift that took you up and down I would have kept away, I have a fear of lifts and this was one of the worst I have seen! . The bathroom was OK, but the shower was a tiny cubicle, and the shower itself was very temperamental with both pressure and heat.

Staff were very helpful, our room had a view of the Duomo which was amazing, bed was very comfortable, room large enough and aircon worked well. There was a small fridge in the room which was lovely after a long day. Having the choice to have breakfast on the roof terrace was fantastic.and there was always a variety of food.

I would recommend asking to not get the room next to the reception since it's a bit noisy. The toilet is quite small.

The shower was intermittent, pressure then no pressure Also the shower couldn’t get to a nice temperature, it was either freezing or red hot and consequently I burnt myself in the shower on the first day We had asked for a twin room but it was made as a double bed We should have had fresh towels after 2 nights stay but didn’t There was a kettle but no tea or coffee

The only thing is the shower is extremely small therefore when using it, the water goes all over the floor which could cause a fall.

I booked Hotel Villani for my trip to Florence in September 2023. I loved that I could leave my belongings at the hotel, since I arrived early, and I could go explore, while waiting for the proper time to check in. I appreciated that I could do the same at check out. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming. You can't get any better than Hotel Villani. It is close to everything (galleries, Firenze Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, the train station, etc). The bedrooms are well maintained and I enjoyed the view of the tower getting out of my bedroom. The terrace area offered a great view of Florence and they offered aperitivo ($). For breakfast, you have a nice variety of things to eat, while looking at the tower. If you want, you can also grab your breakfast and eat it on the terrace. I would book Hotel Villani again anytime I go to Florence.

The shower/tub design was difficult to maneuver into - having to step over tub wall into such a very small space. Especially concerning for myself as I have left knee troubles.
