Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe WiFi is very poor, unfortunately.
Fantastic stay at White Sands, very comfortable and charming apartment on lovely grounds with a gorgeous pool. Only a stone's throw from a really stunning beach. Everything was very clean, and Sandro was very helpful. A short drive to Murta Maria with lovely reasonable restaurants and cafes. Cafe Nonnas had great coffee and the best pistachio croissants. Restaurant Murta Maria had great pizza, and Il Fare was well worth the drive, but do book ahead. You definitely need a car here. Will stay again. Porto Istana beach is stunning.

NetherlandsIf wifi would reach into the apartment it would have been perfect since to discover the island it's necessary to check for beach locations/routes/restaurant/supermmarket locations. Luckily the wifi reached the pool area very well so we stayed at the pool many times 😁 We discovered the northern part of the island, with pacific-blue water, and beautiful beaches and nice little harbours Furthermore the host, Sandro was very helpful in facilitating our stay
Beautiful residence close to several small beaches in little bays, with a very nice pool

United KingdomLocal beach whilst stunning, is absolutely rammed. No BBQs possibly due to the wildfire risk, Wi-Fi was really weak
Swimming pool was great, local beach was stunning, the staff were really friendly/ helpful. It's quite isolated (2.3k to the nearest restaurant/ supermarket), initially we saw this as negative as we didnt have a car, however we soon got used to it and actually enjoyed the fact it was quite remote, I was happy walking to the supermarket but it's not for all and I'd probably recommend hiring a car for most people. Initially we freaked because there wasnt a kettle but again embraced that and used the italian espresso maker (coffee smelt amazing in that little thing!). The quiet 'rustic' nature of the property possibly isnt for all, but it grew on us and we ended up having an amazing stay & loved it. Definitely recommended but may not suit everyone's tastes

NorwayPoor facilities in the kitchen and apartment, bring your own basics. And when your neighbours had a party at night (or sneezed) it was like being part of it. But we managed :)
The pool and fast response from the employees. 10 min walk from beach :)

United KingdomThe property was around a 30 minute walk to the closest town and supermarket. We would definitely suggest having a car as everything other than the beach is a little too far to walk in the heat and you have to walk on a main road.
The property was lovely, spacious and close to the beach. The pool was always clean and pretty.

SloveniaThe road to the hotel is unpaved, which wouldn't have been such a downside if there weren't really deep potholes. On the first day, I was afraid for the undercarriage of the car. On the last day, they did partly fix the road and patch up the holes. One major downside is the extreme humidity and staleness in the apartment. When we arrived on the first day, I thought it was because the room had been closed for a long time. However, even intensive ventilation and use of air conditioning for dehumidification did not help. The bed was actually damp all the time and even the clothes started to smell musty. It was uncomfortable to sleep in such an environment. It's a real pity because the gentleman who looks after the hotel is very friendly and the whole complex has potential for development. As a comment on the accommodation provider, I would add that I regret not reading the old reviews. The stuffiness and the smell of mold are not only at the start of the season, but are problems that persist all the time in your rooms.
The hotel manager is extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting beautiful beaches. In fact, there are gorgeous beaches just 7 minutes away. The hotel complex also looks very nice from the outside.

United KingdomIt is pretty difficult to get to from Olbia without a car in the off season as you really have to hit the mark with the public buses (but still better than most other places). There also is no wi-fi.
The place is in a nice segregated compound, which tends to be very quiet. There is a stunning roof terrace with a great view. The beach itself is about a 7 minute walk away, which is not too bad either. The flats have A/Cs as well that are nice to have.

PolandNo coffee set in the room, although the description on booking.com said there would be one. Furniture old and not too functional. Small, tight shower. Nearest shops / restaurants are 2 km away - be sure to hire a car as there is no Uber in Sardinia and taxis are horribly expensive.
Great location - 7 minute walk to the beautiful Porto Istana beach. Fantastic pool - clean and big. Quiet and calm place, just perfect for rest and relaxation.

DenmarkOne set of clean bathroomtowels for ten days of vacation is a bit on the cheap side. Should be changed more often without any cost.
The host, Sandro, was really kind, sweet and helpfull. The pool is really clean and nice and the place has a nice quiet atmosphere. Well functioned aircondition in the apartment. The beach nearby is faboulous with crystalclear water and beautiful white sand. Important: You need a car to get around to restaurants and to buy groceries! Also you need to bring your own beachtowels!

LatviaThe lower rooms have particular humid smell, the cleaning needs to be done by yourself- there is a. brush and a broom for that. You will use it a lot. if possible choose the rooms on the second floor!
The location is good as it gets, the walk to the beach is sandy/dusty but very close 300m, the beach is medium crowded, but very suitable for swimming with children, a small cafeteria allows to enjoy ice cream and the sun. Be sure to buy an sun umbrella from the first day, that helps a lot. Swimsuit is also possible to buy at the beach for a fair price 15-20 euros, they are very nice. the pool is perfect and clean but working hours 10-13 and from 15:30 -19:00 kids enjoying it a lot. lifeguard present all the time keeping an eye.

AustraliaWe had to supply our own good dishcloth & tea towel as none supplied, also only 1 roll of toilet paper supplied for a 4 night minimum stay - didn't feel we should have to ask, so just bought our own.
The location to the beach was the reason we booked at White Sands which made the 4 night minimum booking worth it! It was an easy 10min walk to the beach & what a beautiful beach! We rented sunbeds & an umbrella & loved every minute we spent at the beach in that magical water. Sandro the Manager was very helpful and was happy to recommend local restaurants. The pool was also lovely, but with lots of families using the pool, it was busy which was absolutely fine - preferred being at the beach anyway. The room was very pleasant - A/C was much appreciated, but it is all about the location to the beach.

SlovakiaFor the price, nothing really.
A very good value for money within 10 minutes by foot from a pretty beach (Porto Istana). Quiet, well-maintained site. Kitchenette rather modest but still serviceable for simple meals. To be noted that the nearest supermarket is 30 minutes by foot, so it is convenient to have a car. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

United KingdomThe room was fairly basic, in line with other experiences of similar properties in Sardinia but a few small changes/a bit of modernisation would make it even better. For example, only one toilet roll provided for a 7 night stay - guests are expected to replenish themselves, no tea towel/drying up cloth provided for use in kitchen and pillows on bed in need of replacing.
Set in beautiful, well maintained grounds. Spectacular pool. Nice and quiet. Good proximity to the beach. Good aircon in the room.
