Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWater from shower leaked very easily into bathroom floor, and no hot water on the second day. Breakfast was adequate but could’ve been a bit better, maybe not as good due to slow business nowadays.
Excellent front desk/concierge, sheets/bed surprisingly very comfortable, adjacent to good restaurant with 20% discount, good wifi

CanadaVery nice, owner speaks very good English; less than 10 minutes walk down hill to bus station; can walk down hill several kilometres to Petra gate, but I needed a taxi to get back up the long, steep hill to the hotel; simple but OK breakfast with eggs. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Owner was very helpful, he called someone to find out roughly what time to get to the only bus to Amman on a Friday (he said to be at bus station at 7 a.m., which I did, although the bus didn't fill up enough to leave for a couple hours, but that was fine as I was not in a rush).

CanadaThe room was a bit small for two people, but clean and quiet at the rear of the building. The location is great. It is a managable 20 minute walk to Petra site and very near the bus from Amman. The receptionist was helpful in arranging a last-minute tour and overnight stay in the desert at a reasonable price.

United KingdomIt is difficult to find fault, but the location does mean an uphill hike, at the end of the day, from the Petra site entrance.
The staff were all friendly and pleasant, and manager Abdul, who is also a Petra guide, was a mine of useful information and advice, which included very helpful hiking tips. In addition, he kindly arranged my onward transport to Dana. My room was clean, well-maintained, and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the heating worked a treat, and the shower was piping hot. The breakfast buffet was very good, too.

JordanI liked almost everything about the hotel except for the bathroom fixtures. The shower head wouldn't stay in position and the bathroom generally was very cheap and janky. Strange that they skimped so much on this while the rest of the hotel was pretty nice.
Staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. I think that's the main selling point for this hotel.

ArgentinaThe bathroom is rather small and it’s get really wet when you shower. The bathroom door is not good and you can hear everything.
The hotel is okey according to its price. The location is really nice, near the center and many good restaurants but in a quiet street. beds are comfortable and the room is equipped with air conditioner.

AustraliaNothing! The hotel has a very homily welcoming, feel about it. Easy access to lots of restaurants serving traditional Jordanian cuisine. Good pizza at Yummy Bites!
The staff were very helpful. We could park outside the front of the hotel as it is not peak season which made it easy to transfer our luggage to our rooms as there are six of us travelling. Our rooms were clean & comfortable. Heating was also available. Breakfast provided a good selection of foods & our packed lunch for a day at Petra was very reasonably priced & satisfying.

NetherlandsGenerally it was ok but if I was asked for details, It is an old hotel that needs renovation and the rooms are small. Also we stayed for 2 nights and there was no cleaning service. Both the beds felt kind of uncomfortable. Mine was moving and reclining towards the head position. Bathroom needs some attention - repairs. If it was an expensive hotel I would have many complains, considering the price range it was more than ok.
The staff was amazing, Abdalrahman and the others were very friendly and polite, extremely helpful, I am grateful to meet them. The breakfast was ok, nice traditional Hummus and Labaneh. They offer cooking classes, unfortunately I didn't see that earlier and meal pack for your Petra trip. The room had AC. Nice View from the small window. It is totally worth to stay comparing to the price. Parking just in front of the hotel, restaurant and coffee as well.
