Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNowhere to put your stuff besides narrow lockers in a tiny corridor. Made getting things like clothes and toiletries in and out very tricky each day, especially if trying to do so at the same time as other people. Also told not to keep any belongings in capsule area so can't even keep your stuff in there to avoid having to completely repack each day.
Great to have privacy of the capsule

United KingdomOnly thing is the lockers were too small for big suitcases, so they had to be kept downstairs in the lobby - felt a bit worried they would be moved.
Bed was so comfy and cozy, I felt very safe. I also was pleasantly surprised with how clean the bathroom and shared areas were.

LuxembourgDespite that capsule was comfo, it was hard to sleep due to the noise. Literally you hear everything, floor creates lots of noise when you walk, curtains: when opened and closed. There are 34 capsules on the same floor and some girls kept on walking in and out till 2 am, then at 6 am all the alarms start to ring. After 2 nights i asked to move me in the end of the coridor and to the top capsule, but still got all the noise. Could not sleep properly during any of my 4 nights stay. One time i had to ask 1 girl to stop talking on the phone at 12 am, and stop arranging her luggage. Locker is very tiny, just for 1 cabin bag and bagpack. Staff speaks no english at all, all communication done via google translator. Big bags are stucked on reception where nobody at night and blocks entrance.
Capsule is big and comfortable, bathroom was regularly cleaned

JapanIt's gone downhill over the years. I first stayed in 2017, but I don't think they should allow large luggage anymore as people were leaving it in the hallway and sleeping rooms and it was hard to get around them.

DenmarkYou had to be out of your cabin from around 10 am - 4 pm for the staff to be able to clean, but this wasn’t really a problem.
Location of the hotel was amazing; close to subway, close to cozy streets, close to several convenience stores and close to the main center of Akihabara. Facilities were great and surprising clean even though many people were using them all the time. Your cabin, nightwear and towels were cleaned every day, which seemed a bit unnecessary at first, but turned out to be really convenient and nice. The hotel provided everything needed; from sleepwear to shower soaps and more included. Overall, the other guest were also respectful and the atmosphere was relaxed. Staff was sweet and hardworking Would definitely recommend this place.

RussiaI had only one problem there - the luggage locker has a not pleasant odour of sweat and mustiness, and this smell clung to my clothes (
The hotel is really comfortable, there's a lot of cool stuff such as pyjamas and facial cosmetic (cleanser, lotion). The capsule has a comfortable mattress. Overall everything is clean and convenient. Also it is close to a few metro stations, easy to get around.

CanadaThey give you slippers to wear and keep your shoes in lockers at the front door, which is great because the floor in the stairwells and luggage locker area was very dirty and stained.
Great location. Beds are comfortable. There is more space in the capsules than I anticipated. Bathrooms were clean and had many stalls and sinks.

United KingdomI wasn't a fan of how cramped everything was - reception area, corridors etc. This would have been fixed if the lockers were slightly wider to accommodate cases. Also the bathroom was very full, particularly the sinks with people applying makeup which means you have to wait to do the essentials like brushing your teeth.
Well located hotel, felt safe and they regularly cleaned the pods if you needed

United KingdomThe fan in my capsule didn't seem to be very efficient. The temperature outside the capsule was nice, but the blind/shutter could only be either fully open or fully closed so my room got very hot during the night. Adding an extra set of hooks so that the blind can be left open a little would allow better ventilation and help to keep the capsules at a more comfortable temperature.
The hotel is really easy to find. The location, just a 3min walk from Akihabara station, was fantastic for access to/from Ueno for the Skyliner to Narita airport. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The lockers are a good size for storing backpacks or carry-on size luggage, but bigger bags can be stored securely at reception. There's not much shelving or other storage space in the capsules themselves compared to other capsule hotels I've stayed in, but the locker meant that I still had plenty of space to organise my things for a few days. The mattress was one of the more comfortable that I've slept on in a capsule hotel. Capsules have to be vacated between 10am-4pm each day for cleaning, but the lockers and lounge area are still accessible and you can ask not to have your capsule cleaned if you want to stay in the room. The shower water pressure and temperature were both great, and there was a decent amount of dressing table/sink space. I paid the 500yen for an hour in the Japanese-style bathroom on my last night and loved it. The hotel was very clean, with the exception of the carpet in the stairs/lift area. But free slippers are provided so there were no worries about walking on that carpet.

JapanNot nearly as clean as when I stayed a year ago- there’s significant mould on the back of the shower doors, and the carpets are looking very old. Some small changes (like liberal use of bleach on the showers and some new flooring in the lift and heavily used areas) would honestly improve this place so, so much.
Conveniently placed, women-only capsule hotel near Akiba station. The capsules are good if a bit too warm, but there’s lots of bathrooms dotted around the building and a downstairs lounge for eating. No microwave, but there’s boiling water and vending machines. The downstairs shower room has laundry machines (both washer and dryer) and pyjamas are included as part of the linen. Everything gets changed every day (you can’t opt out) and they clean the place from 10-4 so you can’t hang out during the day.

United StatesHaving to leave luggage by the reception wasn't ideal. The lockers were very small and only a backpack could fit. The fan was noisy and I couldn't sleep at night sometimes. Also, you couldn't be in the facility from 10-4, so if you wanted to rest, you had to wait unfortunately.
It was near the train station. The capsule pod was spacious. Very clean. It's good for solo travelers.

NetherlandsVentilation system made a lot of noise (even hearable through ear plugs) and with curtain closed, not ventilating enough. I woke up drowsy everyday. The atmosphere in the hostel was a bit depressing, nobody said a word to each other (it was also forbidden tot speak in the dormrooms), even in the lounge. You need to leave between 10-16h.
Great location, very clean. Good amenities like clean towels everyday and shampoo, tooth brush etc. Sleeping in a pod is a fun experience.

Japanit’s close to the station but located inside an alleyway, so might not feel super safe at night. they also don’t let you check in before 4pm at all. the building itself is very small and the lobby has very limited space. i used it during the less crowded times so it was ok for me, but during peak hours it might be more difficult. i also heard from another person staying that she had to check out and check back in each day because she booked her days separately. that’s quite inconvenient so something to keep in mind. the price also adds up over multiple days.
it was fairly clean and not super crowded. the capsule was pretty spacious for me and modern. the shower room has good facilities like usual amenities, hair dryers, etc.
