Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Huge room, comfortable bed, excellent shower pressure (and heat). 500m to the station and bus interchange. Easy walk to Gion and across the river to the city centre. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This was my favourite hotel room in Japan. The location could not be better - a quiet area but easy access to Gion and the river, easy walk to the city centre and bars and restaurants. The room was huge and meant we could spread out and relax. Bathroom with separate toilet, shower and sink- lots of space for my products and great lighting. Bed was big (possibly a king) and extremely comfy with good pillows. Automatic curtains and blockout blinds which was perfect for a sleep in. Cannot fault this hotel!

AustraliaI accidentally said we had an infant, and it said we had a bed and sofa bed. We didn’t have an infant so it cost AUS 37 to get an extra bed. Still confused. Anyway. They were nice about it but I wouldn’t have stayed there had I known an extra fee, there were other places cheaper

Our room was spacious, comfortable and furnished to a good standard, the staff are friendly and overall the hotel is great value for money. The location is perfect, right on the edge of Gion and 5 minutes from the centre of the new town across the bridge. Lots of great food nearby and right on the main metro and bus lines to major attractions.

Very clean, large room, beautiful bathroom, turbo bath. Enjoyed the boxed breakfasts.-can choose japanese or western. Nice view across the river from the balcony. Short walks to the gion streets with all the bars and restaurants. Also only a few minutes walk to Sanjo Keihan Subway. Very obliging staff - served us breakfast at 5:30am on the last day so we could get to the airport.

United StatesThe only downside for me was the lack of a simple gym. I understand that many people would not miss that, but it would have made the stay perfect.
Our rooms were spacious, quiet (despite being near a road), very clean, and well-equipped. We enjoyed the Japanese breakfasts (you can order Western breakfast instead). The staff could not have been more helpful. It was an easy walk to Gion, buses, trains, restaurants, and more temples than you can count!

United KingdomThere’s no restaurant/dining room , so breakfast is served in your room. Which was fine the first day but we would have preferred breakfast in a dining room. This did not spoil our stay but the decor felt a bit dated. The corridors looked like a public swimming baths.
Great location. Very close to Sanjo station. We discovered on our last day one of the exits was just metres from the hotel! Spacious rooms. Lots of extra amenities
