Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeWas here for an exhibition. It was in close proximity to Makuhari Messe, and the path there is sheltered from the hotel to the venue, and we did not get wet on the rainy days.

United StatesIt was very dirty under the beds with items left behind from previous gifts. The bathroom sink/shower combination is unusual. Need a larger laundry facility for size of hotel.

United StatesUse of the swimming pool costs extra which is bizarre. The shower/sink exchange in the bathroom was archaic and the worst I’ve seen in all Japan.

FinlandThe hotel should have more washing machines, they all seemed to be in use everytime I checked, but eventually after some waiting was able to wash my laundry. The bathroom light stopped working on the second day of my stay, but somehow fixed itself later that evening. One thing that wasn't the hotel's fault was some guests talking loudly in the hallway late at night which was somewhat annoying.
Stayed here while attending an event at Makuhari Messe. The hotel location for that purpose is excellent, only a few minutes on foot to the convention centre. For general sightseeing not so good as it's located outside Tokyo and about 10-15 minute walk from the nearest station. The staff was super polite and having in-hotel restaurants and convenience store is a very good thing to have. Room was clean and exactly what you'd expect from an APA hotel.

AustraliaThe price was abnormally high for just one night of my stay which brought the cost up significantly. The laundry services worked fine, but were almost always in use by other guests, so expansion of those services in the future would be nice.
Location is directly opposite Makuhari Messe and it was chosen for that reason. I use the same hotel whenever I want to walk to and from an event multiple times in the same day. The actual rooms are more spacious than the average APA hotel as well.

SwitzerlandThe shower curtain had a weird smell. Visible dust on the headboard of the bed. Water in the kettle from previous guest stay. There was this squeaky sound when I opened the wardrobe door.
Easy access to public transportation. Food courts nearby. A convenience store and a pharmacy within the hotel made shopping easier. I stayed on the 36th floor facing the beach with a fantastic view. The staff were very friendly.

ChinaFor such a tall build the number of elevators is too small. You may wait for a long time for the elevators. My experience in the breakfast restaurant is awful. In the first day, I was refused to enter because I wore yukata, but yukata is provided by the hotel and you see people wear it in every corner of the hotel. On another day, I sit at a table with four seats. One of the seats is occupied by a Japanese by using the board (not in person) so I sit at the diagonal seat. At busy hours in the morning, there are few empty seats in the restaurant. The funny thing is that the Japanese lady came and complained to the waiter that she occupied the table first (she only occupied one seat and she is alone) and then the waiter came to me and asked me to leave impolitely.
The location and view are nice!

South KoreaThere was mold growing on the bathtub walls, and though we stayed for six days, it seemed to miss the staff's attention. In addition, it looked like the aircon was dirty and the walls next to the windows were dusty, so my friend kept sneezing every morning and had to blow her nose a lot. It would make the next stay much more pleasant to have these things taken care of. Thank you!
The location and the hotel's facilities were very beautiful, and it was nice that there was a convenience store located inside the hotel itself. The aircon was also cold and strong, exactly what we need during the summer. It was also nice to have self-check-in and check-out when the lines were long. Thank you!

United KingdomIt’s not to do with the hotel. Because of the location the hotel is, it gets busy when the baseball match is on. Loads of people come and stay after the match in the night, also people who visited Tokyo Disney land come and stay. While I was staying there, I had to make a queue to get on the lift and the queue was long. Also the check out time at 10 am is the same.

IsraelThe rooms are too small to place a suitcase on the floor without having to step over it. For some reason, the desk is designed to partially extend into the already narrow corridor which is rather inconvenient.
I liked the cleanliness of the hotel. The minimarkets in the hotel complex are very useful and the onsen is great. There are numerous restaurants and a large outlet nearby.
