Not the most spacious room. Only one chair to sit on so we had to sit on the bed.

Very well located hotel. The hotel room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of restaurants in a close distance from the hotel. 7/11, Family Mart and Lawson all in close vicinity. The public bath was also very nice after a long day of walking.

Whilst I know Japan is a very safe country, I personally prefer to have a safe box located in the room. This feature doesn’t seem to be standard with APA

The hotel is very conveniently located very close to Kyoto’s main railway station. Staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming with good English spoken throughout. Like most Japanese hotels both the room and the hotel generally, were spotlessly clean. The room was a good size for single occupancy. The adjoining restaurant to the hotel provided an excellent, varied buffet breakfast. Other facilities provide within the hotel included vending machines, laundromat and a spa bath area.

Not very clean. There is a lot of hair on the carpet. The desk was dusty. The hallway was stacks with towels and rubbish.

Good value for money as the room was bigger than we expected (coming from Tokyo). Staff were friendly and very helpful too. Location was just 1 min walk from the entrance of Kyoto station and food hub too

Only suggestion is to have more washers and dryers. They were in high demand and difficult to gain access to due to the high demand.

The location was excellent and facilities were very comfortable. Very clean with regular room servicing. Excellent value for money for the services and location.

The location is superb, just a quick walk from Kyoto station, easily visible. Great staff, always attending to your requests and incredible service. For those how enjoy, there is an onsen inside the hotel for free. Overall, pleasant experience.

Breakfast is quite costly around 2,200 JPY per person.

First and foremost the location of the hotels is most convenient for commuting. The transit hub containing Kyoto JR station, Metro station and Bus terminus is just a min of walk away. The transit hub has great affordable food outlets for dine-in and take away options. This makes the hotel one of the best in Kyoto. The hotel gave us a free upgrade to a large room with a view of Kyoto tower. It made us very happy.

Short walk from Kyoto station and easy to find. 7/11, pharmacy and souvenir shops are nearby too. The breakfast is delicious and don’t skip the gelato. Will be booking again on our next stay.

The biggest complaint about APA hotels seems to be the room size. That is true for a lot of hotels in Japan apparently. Granted they were a little small, but once you get used to it, they’re fine.

We were in Japan for two weeks and stayed at 4 different APA hotels. We booked them because there were consistently clean, conveniently located, exceptional staff and comfortable beds.

Clear instructions on use of Grand bath would be helpful. We didn’t want to offend but having never been to one didn’t know the etiquette. The restaurant was never open when we walked down there to get food. Maybe you could post hours?

* The food at the restaurant in this property isn’t good. * Long lines at check in. They won’t start checking people in before 3pm. If the rooms are ready why don’t start the process earlier as the rooms become available? They wait until exactly 3pm. * I am tiny so the bathroom and shower area worked for me, but specially the shower area is very tiny. A bigger person might don’t fit.

This place was way better than what I was expecting! Sweet surprise. * Location is GREAT! 3 min walk from the station. * As a solo traveler I had the king room for myself, so it was just the right amount of space for me and my luggage. * Comfortable bed.
