Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room is small, and if you have luggage, there may not be much space to move around. Similarly, the bathroom is also quite small.
The room and the common areas are very clean, and the staff is nice and helpful. The check-in and checkout processes are very smooth and automated. There is complimentary luggage storage on the day of checkout. Housekeeping can be requested, but by default, they leave a bag of clean towels and other necessities (coffee and paper cups, etc) every morning. There is mandatory housekeeping every third day from check-in. The water from the sink is drinkable, and two bottles of water are provided when checked in. The bed is comfortable, and I had an upper-floor room with a good city view. There are restaurants in the building and many nearby. There is a FamilyMart very close by, which is very convenient for getting things needed. The subway station is nearby, and it is in a very safe neighborhood.

GermanyWhile I expected small rooms, they were a bit stuffy. Windows are closed with no handle available. It could be great for a single traveler, but two people need more air. I wish you could open windows.
There are two small supermarkets at the property, a simple cafe, and a good breakfast. The location is close to metro and wihtin 15 minutes walking distance from the yokohama conference center. Overall, a great value.

United StatesThe hotel didn't have an American plug adapter for my laptop.I sat in the hallway to conduct a short business meeting.
Location, we've stayed in Yokohama before, and we love the Bay area. It was our first time trying APA. The room was small but perfect for my daughter and I. Beds were comfy and convenient to everything, which made it that much better.

JapanThe size of the room is too small even for one person, which may be the main drawback with all APA hotels. There is little space on the floor to lay open my large suitcase on. Because the window is locked for a security reason, the air in the room gets stuffy and even too warm, even at the help of the built-in air-conditioner on the ceiling and the air-purifier which had to be left on running all night.
The location, the atomosphere of the hotel and the view of the Minato-Mirai through my bedroom window was excellent, much better than I had expected. The room was kept immaculate, and the beddings were freshly made and clean. The hotel also provides a free pyjama & slippers, basic amnities in the bathroom, which I found was very convenient. The extra space below the elevated bed for storing luggages was a clever idea.

JapanThis place is supposed to be a location specific place and even though I payed for the room with view, the room I got was on the different side of the building. The room was very very small as well. Staff was a bit rude which I thought was a bit odd for Japan. They would give me a receipt since I booked online however I got receipt from all other hotels which I booked online.
The location.

SingaporeThe entrance to the hotel reminded me of a casino, bright, crowded and overwhelming. The room reminded me of a cruise ship sized room, compact, not possible to have any luggage in anywhere but under the bed. Need to be "creative" to pack and unpack with an open luggage as the room was really small.
The location was great as it was near many sights, train, shopping and food areas. Able to get to Yokohama in a few stops with the subway nearby by walking. The view from the higher floor was great! Comes with a bathtub to be able to soak in daily, so that was a plus.

ChinaThe room is very small (smaller than three others I’ve stayed in Japan) and felt a bit restrictive. The hotel has a public bath but the women’s bath was usually pretty crowded during my stay.
The hotel is very conveniently situated near a railway station and within walking distance to several attractions. There’s a convenience store in the hotel which makes getting snacks very easy. I also liked that amenities are provided in a bag everyday without having to ask.

United StatesI don't know that I didn't like anything in particular. The staff and hotel were great. Maybe and this is just because I'm larger, was the lack of larger sizes for the footwear and Yukata for the spa.
The location is great. You're centered around a shopping mall, and attractions like amusement parks and the Landmark tower which was pretty great. Not too far from the harbor where you can see ships and visit the Japan National Guard.
