Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe breakfast is set menu with few item.
This place is quite and compact Japanese style. I booked two types of room ie. compact double bed room and maisonette comapct double bed room. It is located beside the porcelain shop and far from the resturant. I recomended to have the breakfast at the hotel.

ThailandHowever, I was there during the rainy season. The water dripped in during the heavy rain. That wasn't expected. The hotel was very far from the sight-seeing area. It will cost you around 1300 JPY to get into town by taxi. There is a bus route but it doesn't come very often. So it's a long walk if you want to explore the city.
One good design hotel. I booked a duplex loft room. Love the design and space arrangement.

SingaporeIf you do not book the hotel dinner, there is almost nowhere nearby to eat. You may have to take a taxi to the town center to find food.
Hotel is in a special part of Arita with many specialty ceramic ware shops! It's a convenient place to do all your shopping. I noted many carpark lots, so I bet this gets busy during Golden Week when everyone descends on the town.

Singaporei had a wonderful time at aria huis! the staff were lovely, the room was exactly what i expected from the pictures (very nice), the bed was super comfy, the shampoo and soap smelled really good. summer in arita was extremely hot but i was very happy in my air-conditioned hotel room. i was travelling alone on a trip focusing on pottery and the hotel was wonderfully placed within two rows of shops, one of which also had a bakery i enjoyed breakfast at. i didn't get to eat at arita huis itself this trip but i look forward to returning and trying their food when i do. i will say that the location is a bit inconvenient - far from the train station and food options - but there are often cabs around and i suspect other pottery-related things around arita sera that i didn't get to visit this time around. if you're driving this is a really good option, if you're relying on public transport i'd say think about if you're willing to take a cab to and fro. walking the 24 minutes might be fine in other seasons but in summer it was a lil intense. also, in general i'd recommend doing research and checking on/making reservations at places you want to eat bc opening times aren't super consistent!

United StatesI wish some of the restaurants near by stay open later, but it is good to eat early dinner.
The staff is friendly, and they used iPad to communicate with me. They do their best for good service. The room is big and very clean than many hotels in Japan. The room is modern, and I like the coffee machine in the room with cute ceramic cup. The ceramic cup is clean, so I feel comfortable to use it. The bed is comfortable, and it is good size for me. The hotel is on a block with many ceramic stores. There are few cafes inside some of the ceramic stores. I had a latte and it was very good and pretty with latte art. The area has nice views of trees and mountains. You can walk to Arita station in 25 minutes, and there restaurants and cafes near the hotel. Also you can make ceramic ware, and I went Norito Ceramic to make ceramic ware. Also the pottery experiences come with soba. I had a lot fun with my friend making ceramic ware, and we also paint on the ceramic ware. I will stay here again :)

AustraliaBetter food/restaurant options when hotel restaurant is closed.
Location was great if you are into ceramics as public transport was intermittent. Breakfast was great; a traditional Japanese breakfast. If you stay on the days the restaurant is open, book the dinner as part of your accommodation package.
