How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is perfect if you are looking for a quieter spot away from the craziness of core Tokyo. This area is close to the main temple Senso-ji and it's amazing to see people dressed up in kimonos. It took about 40 minutes to get by subway from Kuramae to Shinjuku station. Room 101 had everything we needed but there was no view nor could we open the windows for fresh air as it's at ground level right near check-in. We had booked a superior room for 4 nights a year in advance but when we decided to stay 9 nights, the superior room was not available. Hiro is a lovely gentleman and could not have been more friendly, help and kind though. We would only suggest to others that they book a superior room early for a bit more space. Thank you, Hiro, for your kindness and for the 3 free breakfasts because we stayed 9 nights! We highly recommend this quaint place!!

Very friendly and helpful owner, good location for trains - 20 min walk to Ueno station (Japan railway) and very close to Asakusa station (Underground), very comfortable beds, clean and tidy, quiet, nice balcony, good shower, free 2l bottle of water every day.

Excellent location the room was big unlike most rooms in Tokyo. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and fresh bottled water supplied. On arrival there were some chocolates and savoury sticks which was a nice touch.

Everything! Beds were super comfy, shower was excellent and perfectly designed for a small space. Service was outstanding. Staff were super friendly and helpful and cared for our every need. Highly recommended. Location was perfect. Quiet, interesting, good local bars, close to Sky Tower and Ueno Park.

The staff were exceptional, they had great response times and were happy to help us with anything that we needed. The room was perfect for the four of us, great amount of room to rest after our long days. It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the train station which was perfect for us.

The room wasn't the one I thought I had booked, the photographs showed a large room with pictures on the walls. The room was very small, it wasn't the one I was led to believe I had booked from booking.com photographs, I would not have paid the price I did for this room. I felt misled.

Nothing! everything was good!
Great value for money in a quiet area of Asakusa but close enough to all the action. Loved the location. 3 metro/train stations within 10-15 minute walking distance, Asakusa kitchen street just around the corner. Owners were super lovely and very helpful. Always available if you needed them. The room was clean and spacious for 5 people. Highly recommended!

No bath and a little far to Japanese public bathes but not a show stopper - didn’t go to Tokyo for bathes. No bowls so used mugs for bowls if sharing food for the kids.
Short walk to edge of Asakusa. Close to metro line. Clean and friendly staff. Good location for access to Ueno, Sky tree and Akihabara too. Can see sky tree from adjacent road. Room was big with dinning table and so good for combini take outs.

Perhaps the wifi speed can be improved.
Close to Asakusa station and Ginza line. The amenities are well thought. The cleaning is daily. The towels and bed are always fresh. There are free water and goodies from Japan which is thoughtful. It is very easy to find the place and easy to get in and out. Hiroyuki is amazing!

A small, charming hotel in the center of Asakusa. Very good location, a few minutes walk from Asakusa metro station and the famous Kaminarimon gate. Spacious rooms, clean and equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable, the room is quiet. Very nice and helpful staff. Several grocery stores are located next to the metro station. A very good choice at a reasonable price.

Very clean and spacious. It is in the residential area so very quiet but not far from the station. The host is very friendly and helpful. They even have paid laundry service, so I don’t need to wash any clothes, which is awesome! :)
