Absolutely outstanding!! Sato San is one of the most helpful hosts I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He said when I checked in please feel like you are at home and that's exactly what it was like for my entire stay. Dropped off and picked up from the mountain every day (short 5min drive). Accommodation is clean, comfortable and homely. Facilities to either cook for yourself or do yourself a favour and book in for dinner at the main building a short 5 minute walk away. In terms of value for money, this is one of the best stays I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and I will definitely be back!!

Very small bathroom and no wardrobe or cupboards for our clothes. I could feel the springs in the bed which was rectified with a mattress topper.

Cosy good facilities and well situated. The staff were so helpful even when I needed to take my son to the dentist.

the owner is very nice. He treated us like as Family. He provided the free shuttle pick up from hostel to ski area. He always smiles and provided the excellent service to us. The hostel is very clean and the shared kitchen is excellent. we can cook by ourselves and the equipment was provided. Everything I was 100% satisfied and I must definitely recommend all people to come here. I will choose again to stay here. the place is very close to the ski area. only drive there 2 to 3 minutes. excellent location.

The design was very nice and cozy, place was clean, staff was friendly, breakfast served everyday and there was free shuttle service taking you to the breakfast and ski locations. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Owner Sano-San is very nice and involved and makes it a welcoming environment.

Make sure you know what time to be there to eat, we accidentally missed breakfast. Most people eat early and then hit the mountain. With two teenagers who wanted to sleep in, the breakfast times are early.

The owner, Tom was very responsive with messaging and answering questions. The room was spacious and it had a fridge and microwave. The best part was the location, less than 5 minutes driving to APPI. We had to leave early, due to unfortunate circumstances and they kept items we left behind safe for us.

The room we were in seemed to have.a musty smell. My guess is rising damp has invaded the property due to the rain and snow. The air caused some minor irritation to all our breathing during the night. A night back in Tokyo cured the congestion and inflammation in sinuses and lungs. I'm worried for people that stay for longer periods as the air might cause health issues if there is mould spores.

Host was very friendly and more than helpful with everything. The house was in a great location just minutes from appi kogen ski resort. Facilities were good for an old place like this.

Very nice, pretty neighborhood, with a mountain view right in front of the doorstep. There's a convenience store nearby, also a microwave and a kettle in the room. Overall, clean, convenient, and cozy.

Fantastic local snow field accommodation in a terrific resort. We spent 3 days skiing and 4 days at Arts Color and enjoyed every minute. Great food, hospitality and service.

Breakfast and dinner are served in their sister hotel - "Life Is Beautiful" - which is a 5-min walk. However, the food quality compensates the hustle.

Amazing pension with rooms with private bathrooms. It takes its name seriously - each room is themed on a color, mine was Orange. Room was wide with a counter and a small kitchen, overcoming my expectations. Located around 15 min away from the gondola. And the common facilities are amazing - it was fun to drink with other guests in the evening while feeding the fireplace with wood. And the owner is super kind and took us from/to the slopes on a cool Toyota Tundra!

- The owner was very disrespectful to us - I have never experienced such a behaviour in entire Japan!! - The dinner was only half of the menu (do not expect the menu from the pictures!!!) - The dinner price on booking.com corresponds to the full menu, but even though the owner only served half menu. - The breakfast and dinner are served in another pension. - The fire place fills the entire house and rooms with smoke. @Sato-san as friendly advice and things to avoid to say: - avoid saying "Do you have a problem?" - "avoid saying We do not speak English, this is Japan!" - Don't make your problems to the ones of the guests. - Don't prevent customers for 30min from having dinner (food is getting cold) just to tell us we should contact booking.com and thus it is our problem. - You cannot buy my rating later on when you already behaved disrespectful to customers.

- Everyone is very friendly, except the owner Sato-san! - Especially Henry was super nice!
